Where to get Zerk fittings

/ Where to get Zerk fittings #11
My experience is that there are different zerks on the tractor and the implements, BH and FEL which are both Kioti brand. 1/4 NPT's fit in some parts, but Metrics do not. So I now have a large collection of various Zerks. I have not had one on the tractor break, but when one breaks on the implements, the search is on to find a replacement that fits.

I don't see the problem as insurmountable. Just buy a tap and redo them to American thread zerks,I believe it's 1/4 x 28.Why be a slave to the crap that they spec out...Mike.

No such thing as American thread anything. There is: SAE ~Society of Automotive Engineers spec and others standards; metric, etc.
What about cutting debris when one taps out existing holes? Why not just get what they were specked to originally?

Right! I should have said SAE to be technically correct. If you coat the tap with grease it will hold the few filings that do not naturally follow the threads out in the tap flutes. We're talking pin joints here not rod bearings. You are more likely to get stuff in there the next time you plow the loader into a pile of gravel.

My take on it is ($.02), Kioti uses the British thread pattern knowing that a standard tapered metric/SAE is close enough that if you screw it in it makes for a tight fit and will not loosen off or back out, Kioti does that on some parts on the tractor I have noticed, kind of smart if you ask me.

I have seen this type of thread several times on TBN. So when I bought my new DK45SE HST last week, I got a bunch of filters and asked about the grease fittings. The guy I was dealing with said standard metric fittings are used and they do not stock anything like this, as one can just go to any auto parts store and get the fittings.

All I know.

British thread Zerk fittings are not sold at HF or your friendly neighborhood auto parts store.

I found this out right after buying my Kioti. I had asked my dealer where to get fittings for my loader and he said the same thing many others have said "Just get a box of em at the auto parts store." Problem is that they don't fit unless you want to re-tap the threads. When I told him that, he sold me a Kioti OEM fitting for like $3. I literally spent hours on the internet searching for "Kioti" fittings to no avail. So I bought a couple extra OEMs at that high price thinking it wasn't worth the effort to try and track down a cheaper source. I do remember now getting lots of "hits" on Google from British sources. It's the same thing with the lynch pins... They are 9mm pins and you can't find them in the U.S.

Thanks... I'll check these out!

Yes I remember finding these now. The OEMs from the dealer are actually less expensive.
