<font color=blue>old New England saying.."if you don't like the weather wait a minute and it will change"</font color=blue>

First time I heard that saying was when I saw it posted at the desk of a motel in Boulder, Colorado.

Yes sir, a good ol' January thaw. High of 50F degrees here in southern Maine yesterday.
Missed matching the record high by only 3 degrees. Supposed to stay mild thru the weekend too./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Record low for that date (1/23) was back in 1976. It was -15F degrees below zero. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Based on what the Cowboydoc is talking about, you might even want to look around the Billings, MT. area. Nice mountains, a couple of rivers going through the area, and lots of available countryside. A friend of mine moved there a couple of years ago and I had a chance to visit him in November. The weather there is actually pretty temperate without much snow in /around Billings. Spring/Summer/Fall all equal lots of sunshine, nice weather, and not too hot. Cost of living in the Billings area is REAL reasonable.

SE Iowa hit 61 degrees last Monday, tied the record set in 1967. Our total snowfall is still under 2". The weather prognosticators are saying 65 degrees by Sunday. The ag extension people on the radio are worried about fruit trees blossoming too early and getting hit by a fast cool down.

What will February bring? It's usually our snow month around here.
