Where to mount license plate?

On my Kaufman trailer the plate is mounted vertically on the left fender. It fits well there and they even have a light below it shining up to illuminate it.

mine is vertical on the left fender.

for lights you can use something like these

Actually i mount my trailer plate on the face of my back ramp. The trailer had a lighted area for plates, but it dragged on the ground.

Our trailers have 10 year plates. My horse trailer costs me about $40.00 for 10 years, my flatbed a little less.

Michigan is $300, but non-expiring

I do not know if that is better or worse.

Will the trailer last me 10 years? I hope so, but $300?!
