The question I ask myself every time I look at CCMs check valve is...why? If it is so important then why havn't I seen it on any other machines? The neighbor just spent a year and a half devoloping his 68 acres, and not one of those machines had it, nor does any other machine or package I've seen...

You don't NEED the double lock valves. As you stated, lots of them don't. But as the systems wear and start to leak, the settings for the top and side will drift. Get's to be an annoyance, I would think. It's sort of a luxury that gets to be a real nice feature, but it cost more. Most folks don't want to pay the 5-10% more.

The reason CCM is about the only one you can find is because they are about the only ones providing a complete system for a small tractor. Most of the valves are large and won't fit on the small cylinders.

3RRL- Thanks for the link to your buildup, I'm starting to get enough of a picture in my mind to be able to do this, the top should be easy, but I'm still trying to sort the side out, I might modify your idea and keep the manually adjustable side link as a just in case I need it piece.

I also want to put a dump bed on my new truck and those prices are much better than Northern or Pierece :D

John Bud- Thanks, I can understand wear or leaky valves being a problem :)

Just my experience, it seems like if your remote valves are of the less costly type, (3 position, in, neutral, out) no detents, no 4th position float, then that is when you need the t"n"t with the dpcv. The more expensive valves with the detents and 4th position are a better quality valve and don't seep until they are warn out which takes thousands of hours of use. Another thing that I have not heard is that you cannot have a dpcv and use float. I use float with both top and side link hydraulics and would not be able to do so if I had dpcv's. Just another reason not to have dpcv's. But this is just me with my circumstances and I am sure that yours vary.
