Not sure, looks like his last post was on 12/10/2003. Usually you hear from him every so often. Rat, you out there? Well maybe vacation or something like that. I know at times I leave for a while and then get interested again and am back.

Oh no!!!!! RAT's not missing I hope. He pm'd me about using my 5P+ welding rod on his A/C welder.

I think I told him it wouldn't work. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

But if he's trying it he should be easy to find. Look for a man slipping and sliding in dirty words................. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Where\'s RAT ???

Harv, do you know a source for trailer axles and hydraulic lift componets? I recall a axle mentioned here that was a springless using a rubber filled torsion tube. Is it Housh that makes a good hydraulic setup?

Re: Where\'s RAT ???

Morning RaT,

Dexter manufacturers the Torkflex axle. It's the trickest thing since sliced bread.

You can get them for a level ride, ten degrees up for a lowered ride, or ten degrees down for an elevated ride.

They come with a five year warrantee which puts them on the durability schedule of conventional spring set up.

They have some real advantages. One of course is ease of installation. You just bolt the puppy up making sure you're square etc. Another is the independent suspension facet of the torkflex system. If you've ever caught a bump with one side of your trailer and seen the whole thing wanting to swap ends on you the independent suspension aspect is a real blessing.

You can get them in all rates up to and including seven thousand pounders. If I remember right some years ago I bought two seven thousand pound axles with brakes complete for about five hundred dollars total.

If you buy seven thousand pounders and put them on a light trailer keep in mind it will handle like a brick. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Look up Dexter Axles for a dealer near you. I've had nothing but good luck with them.

Harsh makes a fantastic scissor hydraulic dump lift. The biggest glitch is they stick pretty well to their dealer agreement. That means you pay retail unless your brother in law is a dealer. But if you're wanting a lift you can depend on for the long haul, consider them.

Harsh Hydraulics should get you a name of a dealer near you.
