Thank you WVBill, you guys have given me some good direction.

When you call these places, remember they will cut to size, etc. So you have to think it out a bit. Also for a generic pole barn, ask if they have any scratch and dent stuff or an order that was made and never picked up. My BIL saves a lot of money doing this. Sure he may have to make some cuts, but like me, I have a lot of time and little money.

You're right--you have to specify the dimensions of the metal panels (mine are 3ft W x 9 or 10 or 11 ft long) and remember that there is extra material along the overlap edges.

I found that the easiest way to trim the 29 ga metal panels I'm using is with my Makita 4-1/2" angle grinder and a cutoff blade. Zips through that thin gauge material with no problem. I have a power shears, but prefer the Makita for this type of cutting.

If you have places to hide a carbide blade on a skil saw works ok...loud as heck!!

Also Jonr don't freak out to much on the pricing. The trim pieces, ridge, end caps, drip edge are real pricey compared to the sheets!

If you use a cutting wheel, brush off the filings. If left on the surface, they will rust and etch into the paint.
