Where\'s the Serial Number?

Hey guys. I have a MF 1220 and was recently looking for a VIN plate or something similar. I assumed it would be some sort of plate tacked to the frame, but I'm used to cars, so maybe they do things different in the tractor world?

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas where I could look for some sort of identication markings, that would be great.

MattL... welcome. I will try a shot in the dark. I own a 2001 MF1235. The ID/data plate on mine is located on the right side of the, what I will call the kick plate, next to the fender. It is some sort of thick, stick on label with stamped numbers. The kick plate is the vertical sheet metal at the rear of the platform where some of the tractor controls might protrude through stamped holes. If this tractor has some age on it, it is possible the label has been painted over or removed for painting. If you have the operators manual, it should show the locations of the ID/data labels. Just a shot in the dark!
