yep.. take the low bid and hold on to his bid bond and performance bond.
Over the years we have actually picked up on work that was in liquidated damages, and the insurer / underwriter picke dup a 2nd contrator to help the primary finish the work so it dodn't have to pay out hefty liquidated damages.
bad times for contractors. we are hanging on tooth and nail on a shoestring budget trying to bid anything we can.. hoping to stay afloat.
