The attached photo shows pallet forks that are at auction tomorrow. I haven't seen them in person, but they look kinda heavy. Too heavy for my tractor?

I have a similar set (see photo). They are fine for tractors with lift capacity over 1500lbs.

Those will not be to heavy for your tractor. They look like a very nice set of forks, if the price is right, I would bid on them.

Good luck.

I'm thinking it's time for some new equipment, but can only get one. I have plenty of uses for each of these and have the required hydraulics. Here are the options:

1 - pallet forks. I borrowed some clamp on forks from a friend and found them useful for moving most brush and logs. I would like to get quick attach type instead of the clamp on though. Price $550-700

2 - top'n tilt. I've been wanting to get this for a while because I have some grading work to do around the pond and eventually around our house/driveway (plan to build in a few years). Price approx $500

3 - 48" Wildkat grapple. I wasn't considering this until recently when I found out you can get one of these for $600 + shipping. I would probably use it a lot for a while and then it would sit in the shed mostly. I seems like a pretty good price and I'm not sure how long that price will last.

So what would you buy?

I have heard more people over a long period state that pallet forks are one of the most useful implements. They may also be in my future. Good luck on deciding.

No luck. I set myself a limit of $500 on the forks and they went for $500, but I wasn't the bidder. I would've had to go $550 to get them. The other set (walk-through) went for $600. They looked pretty good, nice welds and they weren't too heavy, but there were only three width position adjustments. The other models I have looked at had at least five positions.

There is another auction next week with two more sets of these forks. It's a larger auction, so they probably will go higher, but I'll try anyway.

I ended up getting these brand new "Stout" brand 48" forks for $425. They were listed as "light duty", but they have the exact same frame rails, quick attach plate, and forks as the "heavy duty" ones that I posted earlier. The only difference I could see was the backguard and steps on the side. No doubt the heavy set was nicer, but they were going for $600+ and I don't think the difference was worth it for me.

Since I've got the forks now I'll probably get TnT next summer, and next time my dad goes to North Carolina I might have him pick up a Wildkat grapple for me. I figure I won't need TnT until next spring anyway because winter is fast approaching and I won't have time to do any grading. Thanks to everyone for the opinions.

The pics are kinda crappy cause I took them with my cellphone.
