I realize your topic is about atv sprayers. Originally I considered some types of ATV sprayers for my sub compact tractor use but I changed direction and bought a 3 pt mounted 40 gallon Fimco unit for nearly the same money on sale. That was 2 years ago.
I've had zero problems with it and the performance seems greater than descriptions here. Like many, mine has a 10 foot boom application and spot/fan sprayer. But my spot/fan sprayer unit seems better constructed than others I've seen. I can ride along side next to woods or tree lines or culvert drop offs and fan spray with the hand unit up to 25 feet in fan mode without stopping or slowing the tractor. If I use the hand portion in spot mode instead of fan adjustment it goes even further (30+ feet). As a result the fan/spot sprayer unit allows me to cover far further than I could reach or access any other method and is far more beneficial than I ever originally imagined for herbicide spraying especially.
And while the boom was fine - I did some adjusting to the setup so I have better directional control than how it originally came and better awareness of where the spray is going.
I rarely keep it in the sun for longer than the days I am using it. . . And I never ever let the unit freeze or sit in freezing conditions (like a cold garage). And after use, I use an inexpensive very convenient tank rinse product so rubber, plastic, and seals are not aged by any of the chemicals I use (herbicides and pesticides).
When I was shopping, it seemed that the 40 gallon 3pt. mounted unit was built heavier than the 15 to 30 gallon units in material weight or connections . . . yet still it was under $300 on sale plus tax.
I particularly like the Fimco availability of parts at many local farm stores for either replacement or changing configurations should either be needed. The parts are often on sale and readily stocked in quantities. I also added some optional power hook up items for convenience and better reach from back of 3pt. to battery.
