I go through blades pretty frequently but am wondering if anyone has found a set, style, brand that does a better job in cutting and ejecting tall grasses and weeds?
Mower is GT52XLS

I buy mine direct from my Husqvarna dealer. I only change when needed. You must hit a lot of objects to go through so many blades.

I only change mine when needed as well but with hundreds of ground squirrels and gopher holes, yey the get abused. Plus the 1" or so oak limbs that fall. No way around it. Cannot use tractor pulled mower since the tractor will get stuck in the ground. The grass/weeds will be 12-18" high so you don't even see half of it till you hit it.

By the time the ground dries up so does the grass and no longer needs mowing.

I ended up getting them at the dealer also for $52 a set.

I switched to Oregon Gator G5 blades. Oregon 596-615 Gator G5 48-Inch Mulching Blade For Husqvarna , it takes three of them. You'll need the ones for the bigger deck - not the ones I linked to.
MUCH stronger than what came with the mower. We mow brush, branches, and occasionally partially submerged granite boulders. The G6 blades are even heavier, but I am cautious about using those - my wife seems to find every hidden rock and stump. I bought the G5s thinking they would probably die before loosing a spindle. So far, she has not torn up a G5. She'd easily have gone through 3 or 4 sets of OEM blades by now.

They mulch like crazy! I installed a mulching plug as well, and that eliminates the chute and the grass flying across the street...

There is no way I could mulch and not use a chute. I am mowing 3 acres of field grass not lawn. Mine is the GT54XLS and I am the new blades I got are way heavier than the old ones I took off. Maybe Husq upgraded them. These are cutting much better as well.

For all I know they might have been selling me the wrong blades before. Was hard to tell cause the old one were worn to nubs from wear and multiple sharpenings.

New ones seem much thicker than before.

Check the thickness at the hub mounting point, they wont wear there so whatever they were originally, they will still be. My original Ferris mower blades are a bit thicker than Oregon blades.

Have a Google for "Predator mulching mower blades".

I've got a set on my D110 that I bought from my local 'mower shop'. I'm quite pleased with them.

Oregon produces a variety of thicknesses that fit my mower. The G6 blades are thicker than the G5, etc.

I always use orange blades-last longer.

I was buying the G6 blades thinking that since they where more aggressive, they would cut better, but then I read a post somewhere that suggested that wasn't true. It got me to thinking that the best cut I ever got out of my mower was with the factory blades, so I switched back and have to admit that they leave a much nicer cut then the more expensive, heavy duty Gator blades.

Best prices that I've found are at this site. Replacement Blades

I buy the two pack for my tractor. I never sharpen them, I just use them for about three months, then put in the second set for the rest of the season. That's also when I clean out the underside of my deck and do my maintenance.
