Spudland_Dave said:Lemme guess...the Schultes in question are at Hammond's Minot Ave Auburn Location heh? IF those are the ones, I wouldnt touch em with a stick...they've got the old 3 Blade fan...plus for the condition they're in I think what they're asking is WAYYY too much.
IF We've got the location right, Hammond is now carrying the Meteor's...they've got an order placed and I'd guess you'll see them arrive in the near future.
I'm shopping around as well, because I WILL have a blower before the snow hits the ground....Pricing on the Canadian units still isnt in (Puma/Pronovost/Blizzard/BerVac) I suspect its due to the exchange/steel costs/etc... as soon as pricing is in I'm supposed to be getting a call. I've got my heart set on a BerVac SA74 or SA80
As for width...I wouldnt mess with wings and the like...my uncle has some "Factory" wings on a Kubota blower and as soon as you hit any hardpack or icy snow it sucks the whole blower in..
First of all thanks so much for all your replies.
Yeah that was the green ones at Hammond.
I had a conversation with a guy today that gave me some hope for a wide blower. He said he was using the EXACT same tractor as mine with a 72" Erskine front mount blower last winter. He said it blew snow no problem. He said the obvious that if the snow was deep, & wet he had to go slow but he said it was shooting snow a long ways.He said my tractor with a 68" rer blower will shoot snow 25' to 30'.
So I've pretty much decided to go with a 68" Meteor OR a 70" Pronovost Lynx (I heard that 68" Pronovost is not available for this fall also no Puma model anymore now it is the Lynx)
The Meteor is going to be around $2500, is only 68", & has a lame cable rotate system that siezes up.
The Pronovost is going to be $2000, it is 70", & has the sweet gear & cog rotator with the plastic material in the moving part to make it work smooth.
Blizzard/RAD has a 64" but that is the same as the Meteor in design & price but narrower so that's out.
So it looks like I'm going to put a deposit on the 70" Pronovost.
I just wish I had some info on it to be sure of the specs on it. It is brand new so it isn't on thier website. My guess would be that it is similar to the current PUMA-72 only 2" narrower.
