Which chain saw?

You won't regret it!

I bought a Stihl 032 with 20" bar in 1982 and still use it, I cut up some brush and a couple of trees last week end.

I've had to buy sparkplugs, chains, and a sprocket .... that's it!

about sticker price,lets compare apples to apples. HUSKY and JONSERED are both made by ELECTROLUX in Sweden. Huskys are the cheaper version, Jonsered have more features including turbo which eliminates up to 90% of the dust and gunk. Stihl are very good and dont break often but when they do , they cost more to repair just like your German car. after all Swedes know a lot more about logging than Germans. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I don't think that I would make that claim. Us foresters know that the science and practice of forestry was developed in Germany, and early US foresters were all trained in Germany before the Universities started forestry schools in the US. Stihls are very fine saws indeed. Here in the west you will find that ALL Forest Service hotshot crews and loggers have Stihls about 90% of the time.

Tiphips,

I am leaning towards a Kubota right now and the Stihl will go perfect with it! Right now we're having someone come in to brush hog the land until we move there but I'm just awaiting the joyful day that I can do it.
