I am looking at a 6' landpride finish mower and a 6' woods heritage finish mower. I was hoping someone had some information on these. I am undecided which one to get.

I have a 5' Landpride finish mower and it gives an outstanding cut. Mine is a side discharge unit (the AT2660). There are 4 different blade sets available, hi,med,lo lift and a mulching set. I have the hi and lo lifts and prefer the hi for cut quality. They kick up a fair amount of dust, if real dry I'll put the lo lift ones on. You can really tell the difference when you spool the mower up. Also, get the optional front roller.

It is my understanding the Heritage series is the cheaper model of woods mowers and rotary cutters.I guess I would buy the landpride.coobie

Been running a LandPride 72 inch air tunnel side discharge finish mower for about five years. Nice deck. Solid and gives a good cut.

The LandPride is the one you want...the problem is getting one...:D
The company sells their eqipment in blocks, so your dealer has to get 5 or whatever to sell one to you...

I looked at land pride and woods PRD series 84" models a couple of months ago. Other than really small nit picking stuff, they were extremely similar. You won't be disappointed with either one.

Oh yeah, I ended up with the woods at the time because it was a few bucks easier on my wallet...

I got the woods 74" rear discharge. It cuts as good as my woods mowin-machine 54" ZTR front deck mower. I really like the rear discharge as it does not bunch up as much when using it incorrectly by cutting really tall grass.

I have a Woods rearmount 990-3 and I have had good service. I never priced around, I just bought on what I thiught was a good name mower. It takes 3-4 hours to cut my grass and I'm in my 4th season. It cuts nice.

Cheers

I've got the Landpride FDR 1672 rear discharge. Second season with it and no complaints. I will not use hi-lift blades again, though. Way too much dust and can't tell a difference on the cut.

well, thanks everyone for the information. I went with the landpride 1672 because of everyones opinion and i like how the rear discharge is designed so you don't need a chain behind it for throwing grass out.

I second that! All they do is rob horsepower, make noise, and stir up dust.

I can see where they could be helpful for fine manicured lawns, but you need a good mowing machine for that, not a RFM.

i have high lift blades on my 72" MMM that i use for mowing my lawn (like lawn lawn) and wouldnt have it any other way. THey need to be touched up as i wind up with a strip of grass that doesnt get mowed compleatly that was under each front tire, as it doesnt suck the grass back up.

but i choose to mow fairly tall for a more lush lawn.

Here is a link to woods site at the bottom of the page (literature) click on the compare mowers and read the comparisons. Remember this is a woods site and use the info to steer yourself in the right direction. I dont know what all the differences mean myself, but it helped me to know some things to look at.
