As I was approaching 10 hours of fun /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, I mean work /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, with my new B7610 I figured I better get some grease for the FEL. I stopped in the dealer and got some JD Moly Extreme Pressure. The parts guy said they use it for eveything for all fittings on all tractors. Well it says on the tube not for high speed bearing applications. So I went to Walmart and got some Super Tech Extreme Pressure Multi-Duty Complex Hi-Temp grease (that's a mouthful). Seemed to me like this would be better for the spindles on my MMM and would work for other non-load bearing areas as well. Athough it does look like plain jane lithium grease in the three point hitch from the factory I thought the Moly would be a better choice there as well. I'm a new tractor guy so any advice steering me away from trouble would be appreciated.
In the FEL manual (LA 352) it says to also lubricate the "control lever linkage". Is this the part immediately under the shroud? Do you just oil it? I didn't see any zerk under there.
Didn't find this site until after ordering my tractor but I'm glad I found it now. Awesome stuff, especially for newbie's! I know there's a lube forum but I thought I'd start here.
