Gentlemen and Ladies, I want to get a QA grapple for my CK35HST. What does the forum recommend? I am in Eastern Ontario and I will be buying in Canada.
Thanks
Bob

I would make sure you look at the weight of root grapples. You have a limited lifting capacity on that CK35, somewhere around 1150lbs at the pins. As soon as you move out from the pins the weight lift capacity will quickly diminish. Most manufactures are making grapples with the thinking that skid steer machines are their primary market.
I would take a look at the Wicked single lid grapple. Everyone who has bought it seems to like it and it was designed for the CUT market.
It will be at the top of my list when I am in the market. I am by no means a expert but this grapple seems to be very light for its size. Look around on the web, nothing is close to the weight of the Wicked. You sure don't want to put a 600lb grapple on your machine and find out that you can't lift up a full bucket of brush. Hopefully EA will ship to Canada????

Mine. GR-20 Igland log grapple, under 400#s, open 42", 36" wide.
See my avatar; it's holding a boulder.

Bob,
Do you have pictures somewhere of your grill guard? Looks good and effective.

Any build specs?

Satisfied Wicked single lid owner here. I have mine on the more powerful DK35se, As you stated you need to maximize your lifting ability with a lightweight but still strong Grapple design.

Hi Alan, I found a circle of stainless in the dump. It fit perfectly on the tractor and I wired it on in minutes. I don't know the original purpose but I have half of it left 16" x 41". You are welcome to it. Come on up!

Thanks Hard Knocks but HLA grapples are too heavy for my tractor. Thinking the 'Wicked" from EA, but seems they don't ship to the Promised land and the new Landpride one is only for Kubota or can it be adapted ?

From Land Pride website: "Land Pride's SGC05 Claw Grapple is designed to fit BX Tractors with Kubota's unique Quick Hitch system or pin directly to the LA203, LA243 and BX25D loader arms."

You can also check WR Long and see if they ship to Canada? I think it's wrlonginc.com or something like that. Nelson, the owner, was very helpful when I bought mine. I think the EA grapple looks like a great value. I compared very very hard when I finally made my decision to go with WR Long, and I think at the time they were the best choice. I would have strongly considered the EA grapple though if they had made it a few years ago.

Delgra, if the location is correct in your signature, we can ship our Wicked Grapple to a staffed commercial business(feed store, hardware store, lumberyard) near your postal code OR the YRC Freight terminal in Ottowa for $150.00.

100_1141.jpgCheck out Wildkatattachments.com. I have their 48" Econograpple. Works well with my 4720 and with that power (57HP) no problem. Other side of the coin my son borrows it and it works well with his 2520-not that heavy

I thought I read somewhere that the wildkat doesn't even put zirc fittings in the pivot locations for the grapple arm? Is that true? Or does yours have zircs?

HLA does have a CUT grapple. It is just confusing in their catalog. They have a 42" and a 48". They need to be ordered together with matching SSQA hay fork. HLA will send it out as an assembly for you. Weight is around 400lb were you looking for something lighter?
