Which grease to use and when. HD Lithium vs HD Moly Lithium grease

Yeah, but U-joints use needle bearings with same roller principle. I the used Moly Aluminum based grease on many of them. Over 708,000 miles on the set of greasable U-joints on my commercial truck. Same vehicle has same miles on steer axle hub bearings. That same grease i have used in hub bearings on several different applications with no problems. There is a lot of dynamics going on to categorically say that moly is bad for roller bearings.

It does seem to make my Ferris hard for the blades to start turning when cold.

When I bought mine the dealer pointed out the fact to me that you needed some rpms when you engaged the deck. He said the Kevlar belt is made to take it. Course 61" is the widest air cooled mower I ever had so it does seem to make sense. The rest of it could be the heavy duty (Industrial Series....IS) running gear takes some foot-lbs to get it rolling.

Has anyone used Jet-Lube Arctic Extreme Cold Temperature Grease? It is supposed to have an operating temp range of -65 to 225 (F) and is NLGI #2 and resistant to road salt. All things that seem to make sense in the North here where -10 to -30 isn't abnormal in the winter and there is more salt on the ground than in a salt mine it would seem.
