Which HVLP paint gun

Anyone have any recommendations for a quality gravity fed HVLP paint gun? I'm not after anything too expensive but I believe you get what you pay for.

Believe it or not, a well kept secret is that the HVLP gun from Harbor Freight with the gravity feed cup in a test in an aviation forum I get came out equal to a DeVilbiss production HVLP. Less that 100 dollars.
I tell you, I have used several and I prefer a siphon feed standard gun. My favorite for most things is the Binks 2001. J

I've had the TIP system for probably eight or nine years. I love it. Occasionally a customer will insist upon having a pipe fence painted. They pay dearly let me tell you if I do it. But if'n I must I put the unit on the truck and just go down the line like a big dog. Quality of the application is almost as good as aerosol (compressor) but with minimum overspray.

They've got a great online presence and sell all kinds of neat stuff for the restorer--customizer etc. Everything I've got from them has been first class.

I think it was about six hundred back then, well worth it too.

As far as price, anything under about $500. I don't have a lot of projects that require one. Half the stuff I build I have powder coated anyway.

Rich, I was considering the Sharpe Cobalt. I saw one on e-bay for a decent price.

What I should have said is that I prefer my Binks siphon feed NON-HVLP. It is the HVLP part I have a problem with. While I have gotten decent results with some HVLP outfits both turbine type and conventional compressor type I prefer a non HVLP gun for things like cars, airplanes and such that requires a fine finish. They atomize better and are more forgiving and easier to use and set up. Nothing against gravity feed at all.
Sharpe----they are nice guns in the HVLP. I have used the Cobalt. It takes a higher CFM and pressure I think than a DeVilbiss etc--which may be why I felt it acted more like a conventional gun than an HVLP.
I ain't no paint expert for sure but I am an expert at making a big mess for sure /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. J
