Ok I have some thoughts on this as well /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I bought a 60" Mid mount ZTR and yes it mows well and quick, But as mentioned before its rough and dirty and requires two hands.
I had driven a used john deere F735?(as I remember) before I bought my ZTR ,and it was a diesel which ran great but there was no hour meter(it was removed) it was also 6' wide which was fine with me not too big in other words. It rode nicer than the Z. But one of the hydraulic lift arms would leak-down after a few minutes( I didn't want to deal with that, right off + the no hour meter thing.) So I passed on the deal (It was only $3200) It had a shaft drive from the engine to the deck and hydro.
All in all I liked it more than a Z in hidesight /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Plus it was diesel and the wife would have found it easier to use with out turf damage to the lawn.
There is a definate learning curve to minimizing damage to the lawn with a Z ... Just MY opinion /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
