I am lookig for some wisdom from some experienced Kubota users. I found two kubotas in my area was wondering which would be the better tractor.

B2150 4wd w/ loader, 330 hours, asking $8500 or B7500 4wd, w/loader and
60" belly mower, 530 hours, asking $8500.

It appears HP wise the B2150 is a littel stronger. Are there any advantages/disadvantages from one over the other?

Thanks

What are you hoping to do/manage with the tractor? A little info would be helpful.

I will use the tractor for brush hogging (5- 7 acres) clearing cedar trees that have already have been cut down, put in a food plot and maybe an acre garden or grape vines. Also use it to keep clear a short trail in the woods.

I don't know anything about the 2150, i do know that the B7500 is a workhorse. I purchased a new model in 2000, worked the tail off it for 6 seasons. Never had an issue with the exception of a front axle seal that i blew by doing heavy fel work without a counterweight. B7500 is a proven machine in the kubota line up.

I think that they are both good tractors, but for me the advantage would go to the B7500 because of the current availablity of front mounted attachments, etc. I would check with a Kubota dealer about what is still available for the other tractor.....

I think you should keep looking. For what you've planned, something of around 30HP that weighs 2000 lbs. or more and can comfortably handle a 5' bush hog would be about right. New, I'd say the L2800 is a place to start. New Holland's got a deal going now on the TC30, which would be nearly perfect.

Bush hogging 5 or more acres with something as small as a B7500 will be very tedious.

The B2150 is a 24hp 4cyl cut that weighs about 1700lbs without FEL. The B7500 is 21hp and about 1400lbs. I think the 2150 is a slightly larger chassis size also as indicated by weight and would probably meet your needs better. As others have said tho.... 5-7 acres is quite alot to brush hog with a 5ft cutter. A 5ft might be pushing it as the 2150 is only 18hp at the pto. I run a 4ft behind my 2400 (24hp eng...18hp pto) but I believe the 2150 has more torque than mine as it's a slightly larger engine besides being 4cyl vs 3cyl.
