Buying Advice Which Kubota is right for me?

/ Which Kubota is right for me? #31
I drive over my septic tank with my Ford 1920 with loaded tires as well with my 2001 F-250 super duty. We are not talking about driving 25 ton machinery on them.

An 8,500 lb track drive skid steer can drive over a septic field or most newer septic tanks with no difficulty because its weight is spread over a great area . . . even more so than a scut with turf tires. But drivibg a F250 super duty truck on a septuc tank is cery small specufic tires with great weight per sq. Inch and is not something I would ever do.

Ya, I would avoid the tank, but a field done properly will take a lot of abuse. At least ours will.

Greetings JFoy,

In reading the above part if your post I nited your comment about fel lifting ability as a disappointment. So you mention lifting with your forks only about 400 lbs.. is that with clampon forks or with real forks?

Let me say why this is important. The Kubota spec for your fel lift is 745 lbs which includes the bucket and any quick attach. So if your bucket is 150 lbs by itself thats already 20%. Then if you have a quick attach thats another 8 or 10% and then if its clamp on forks from landpride we're talkibg another 55 to 65 lbs depending on which size. And to make matters worse if you use clamp ons your pallet is considerably further away from the pins which further reduces your capacity.

I have a Massey gc1715 and its a scut too. My fork set weighs 110 pounds and my quick attach weighs 77 pounds (your q.a. may weigh less). So my forks and qa together are 187 pounds. Using your Kubota spec if you load your payload to the back of a real fork set you should be able to lift at minimum 500 to 550 pounds to full height and more than that to a 2 or 3 foot height and that is using your kubota specifications. Late last fall I tested my unit quite accurately. My lift spec is higher than yours but I was lifting more than the massey spec by a fair amount. My point is . . Kubota us good equipment. You should at least be avle to do your factory spec if you are ysing prooer technique and quality implements. 400 pound maximum lifting isn't close to factory spex . . so something in implement ir technique needs improvement imo. You should at least be able to do 30% more than you are . . if not more imo.

Like me he probably has the quick pin, that pushes the bucket or forks forward about 4.5". Think it's north of 400# capacity but don't think it's 500#.

I was thinking it may gave been the LandPride clamp on forks which would mean the full depth of the bucket and then the load could be located . Those would be about a foot or so from the closest part of the payload to the pins. I'm not familiar with the quick clip style.

Another thing I've always been surprised at by the BX units is all 4 units have less than 1800 psi hydraulic pressure beforevrelief valve and all have the exact same pump flow volumes even though there are considerable differences in hp outputs. I have always wondered why the bx2670 units don't have a more robust fel lifting capacity because certainly it's pto output is greater at rear or mid. And all of them are rated at the same 3200 rpm speed.

It just seems illogical to me that a bx 18 and a bx26 have 7.5 gross hp difference yet even with different fels they have only 132 lbs of factory spec differenxe in lifting weight at the pins. If I owned a bx I would be looking for the most efficient manufacturer or 3rd party fel implement add ons I could find to maximize every pound of payload. It would make a big difference in forks and grapple choices and optional bucket choices.

Anyone know off hand what the kubota quick attach fir bx units weighs . . I can't find it in any of my latest brochures. Funny . . I started planning on a kubota bx in 2006 . . had full intention of getting either a bx or yanmar sc2400 in early 2015 and ended up with a Massey GC1715 . . . All 3 of those brand models ive mentioned have a number of similar unique benefits like front fliw engine cooling etc.. and because my dealer aells massey and kubota (many do in WI) . . I always grab the latest landpride and bx literature :)

But nothing talks about the the quick attach specs. for the bx units.
