Which Landscape Rake?

A portion of my cornfield I used for setup of equipment.
Piece of cake.

Can you rent a power rake from a nearby rental store? Seems like from your description of the land (rocky soil) it would be the perfect all in one tool. You should still buy a rake, but for the initial project, I'd think a power rake would be the right tool for the job.

Yes, I agree on the tines. I also have the 7' Leinbach. Bought it used and not sure about where the tines came from. I do know I purchased some extra tines from Everything Attachments. They claim to have the Italian steel ones.

This is what I would like to do as I will have a hard time convincing my wife we need to buy a $8000 Harley rake but so far all I can find in my area are skid steer rakes for rent, the 3 point ones must not be as popular in the rental industry, stands to reason as most times on actual construction projects you are far more likely to find contractors using skid steers for this sort of thing than a tractor.

Here's what I don't understand. How can any company continue to have bad welds when the learning curve to learn how to weld is only a couple hours on a basic MIG welder? Actually, 20 minutes of instruction on a MIG is sufficient to turn out great looking welds on new steel. How do some companies keep showing bad welds day after day after day?

I got one of the EverythingAttachments rakes for my B3200 a few months back - I didn't have much seat time with it because it was so late in the season - but the thing is very nice and well built.

I have a 8' Leinbach rake, but the horizontal beam is kind of wimpy. It bent and twisted with normal use, causing the tines on each end to be above ground while the center dug a ditch. I cut the beam off and used a hydraulic press to straighten the bar. Welded a 2x4" steel rectangle to the leading edge to give it strength. The new steel added needed weight.

Standard replacement tines (agrisupply.com) are 27" ($3.30 each) compared to Leinbach 28" ($7.50), so I chopped 1 inch off all the original Leinbach tines.
Italian, or not, they still break.

My Woods LR72 bent the same way your did. I was using it behind a 8N to rake my gravel driveway and a little other light work. I was able to straighten mine and brace it.
