Guys,
I bought a bush hog, finish mower and box blade. I don't know which hole to hook them up to on the lower arms of my 3pt hitch and I need to get it set before I cut my shafts to length. So, where should I put them and what difference will it make as far as the mowers are concerned?
thanks, brett w

If you have any kind of manual you should look in it. One of the holes will give you the most weight pick-up. On my tractor it is the one that is in back. The other one gives me the most height but the manual tells me to hook up to the back one. I hope that this helps.

I'm confused, too. There's only one hole on each of the lower arms of my 3ph.

For sure this is not clear. The pins on the implements go into the ends on the hitch arms. Are you talking about the top link holes at the tractor end of the top link? Mine has three vertical holes to choose from. Any one of those should be fine to use if that's what you mean. I would measure for cut with it in the middle hole if you have three. If this is not what you mean, for gosh sakes tell us. John

OK,
I thought I was going nuts so I went back and looked at my tractor just now.
My 3 pt has 3 holes in the vertical (lifting) rods and 3 holes in the horizontal arms,( the ones that connect to the implement)
Sorry if this is confusing to everyone.
This all came up when I tried to put on my rear blade and it wouldn't hit the ground. My 3 pt was set for the tiller that I have. I'm going to get a longer top link as well so that should let it get to the ground.
I'm very new to all this as you might suspect by now but I really appreciate all the help.
thanks, Brett W

Being a tractor newb, I'm not positive, but I think the adjustments on the lifting arms and lower arms are to adjust for more lifting power at the expense of llift height, or more lift height at the expense of lifting power. Closer to the tractor would be more lifting power but not as much height.

Brett, if in doubt post a picture. I am most interested is the cutting of shaft's. What shafts do you propose to cut?

Micropilot; Okay, here comes my two cents and a question. I have an NH TC35 with the deluxe 3point linkage. On my lower lift arms there are 4 holes. I'm wondering if moving the linkage that runs from the upper liftarms to the lowers closer to the backend [forward] would give me some additional drop on the lowers? I'm asking in the hope of getting a little more depth when using a PHD. My owners manual is sufficiently vague on this info. If anyone else is confused, so am I. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes, John, the holes closest to the tractor will let the lift arms go the lowest.
