Which model Yanmar ?

I have a JD990 and know it is made by Yanmar for JD , could some one tell me what model Yanmar would it closes fit ?

I have tried to reply several times but my internet service is having issues. I do not know the sister Yanmar model to the 990. I think the JD790 is very close to the F24D. The larger F series are 4 cylinders. Is the 990 a 4 cylinder? What is the displacement. I read somewhere its about 35 pto hp,...is that correct?

According to some other posts the 990 is a 4 cylinder. Bill, my best guess is an F35D or FX35D. The X designates Yanmar's "powershift" transmission which is similar to the "shuttleshift" but I think the JD sync-shift is the newer version. I have never seen a FX35D but I have seen a FX30D and a FX32D.

Bill, there really isn't a Yanmar sister tractor to this one. There are tractors with some similar components, but nothing real close in the aggregate.

I just ran across some information that the JD990 has a Japan Yanmar version, it is called the Yanmar US35. I've never bought one, so I can't confirm this with personal experience.

I have been following the posting here , and see that you have a dealership for Yanmar . I am very very happy with my green Yanmar , but always wonder if there was bolt on parts from Yanmar to improve on this machine , for example I was told on another forum here that a Mid-Mount PTO kit was a possible but not a direct JD option, my dealer here in MA. sent out an email to JD and has not gotten a reply back one way or the other . I also at time wonder if the lift capacity of the FEL and 3PT could be increased safely , bigger pump possible or would an added tank be needed for more oil to ... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I guess it's like having a 64' corvette and wondering if the L88 with a blower could be improved on . /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif lol
