So looking to replace my ancient Ariens rider as the motor is just about dead. I have a flat, 3/4 acre yard. These two are probably more than I need, but they've caught my eye and curious what the experts think. I need to stay under the $1400 stimulus
1) 2003 JD LX277 AWS. 17hp Kawa, K62 trans, 48", 617 hours, $1200. I like the Kawa, and the K62, but a bit concerned about the all wheel steering from a maintenance/repair standpoint. 48" is definitely big for my yard (it's broken up into 5 small areas by bushes, garage, storage building, etc.
2) 2008 Simplicity Broadmoor 20H. 20hp Briggs Vanguard, K57 trans, 44", 418 hours, $1400. Looks to be in somewhat better cosmetic condition and has 200 fewer hours.
Both are located around two hours from me but in the same general direction so I could look at both in one trip.
Thanks!
