You are absolutely right, Daryl

"As a matter of fact, no one but you suggested any oil was "King of Oils"---
Yes, the thread is for the second time is--King Of Oil. Yes, I agree I did suggest Mobil 1 was my vote for King of Oil. My question is why participate in the thread if your going to get your feelings hurt. You or someone suggested this or that or whatever and since the thread is KING OF OIL, I for some reason--I wonder why-- took that to indicate that might be your vote. As stated before since apparently I am not being clear, I do not expect others to agree with me but my vote for KING of OIL is Mobil 1 --on topic and on thread--apparently you are not on topic or have not read the topic line. In any case, I tire of this banter and I retire from this thread till it comes up next time.

Why ask, if you don't want an answer, if you don't like someones answer, fine, find your own way through the wilderness, that is usually best anyway.
Meanwhile, I have two gallons of Rottella Synthetic I have decided is not going to go in anything of mine.
This thread has lost it's way--Which Oil is King? and then get angry when someone suggest a candidate--- /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Good day fine folks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Arco Graphite was great car lot oil, you would not believe how it would quiet piston slap. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The only problem was that if the gaskets were marginal it would leak out of every seam.

Delvac 1 Best Synthetic diesel oil
Mobil 1 best synthetic gas oil
Delo 400/Delvac 1300 best HDO
Kendall 70w best for alky burning beasts
On sales i'd bet that's about right also..

Re: Which oil is king? -ALL BRAND NAMES!

( I have used kubota oil for years. I have never had any problems… I am thinking of changing to Delvac or Delo… )

Well If I knew whos oil was in the kubota jug I might stick with it. Until I started reading the specks on different brands I "just used whatever" Now I see the importance of choosing the right oil.

Re: Which oil is king? -ALL BRAND NAMES!

I don't want to get involved in this thread as I stated in a previous post my feelings.

Kubota oils are manufactured by Chevron Oil.

Rotella, again, is a trade name that's germane to Shell oil. As far as a merger between Quaker State and Rotella, it can't happen as I stated above. Shell, on the other hand, might purchase the assets of Quaker State Refining just for laughs!!!

Do you think for a minute when you go to the gas station and pump your gasoline that just because you went to an Amoco station it's Amoco product your pumping, think again Charlie Brown!!!!!

Re: Which oil is king? -ALL BRAND NAMES!

Not starting a brand war here; however, I have used Mobil 1 in the past in my old Ford Powerstoke and the results were not to good. Some metals were very high (ie. Fe, Mn, Cu and Pb) and the Ca and Zn were low I felt. I switch oils and the results were alot better. The Mobil still came back "ok" but when compared to another 100% oil, it did not hold up.

All I will say is that if you think some oil is better, do an oil analysis. That is the proof in the pudding. I used Mobil 1 for a long time but these/those results aloing with them no having long drains (and changed base stocks) I say good-bye to Mobil 1.

Re: Which oil is king? -ALL BRAND NAMES!

I use 1200 Delvac in all my diesels and gasoline engines. I use it for the reasons I stated in a previous post. Availability, price, I am basically happy with it and it meets the tractor/automotive manufacturers API certification. The exception is in my wife's new Ford Ranger. She has a prototype SVO 4.0 OHC V-6. My brother-in-law is an engineer at Fords. I was told to use 5-30 Ford synthetic oil in the engine so that's what I use. By the way, I never drove a Ford Ranger that would incenerate the tires in 4 wheel drive!! Too bad it only gets 16 mpg. But, then FUN factor is through the roof!!

Mike, you're not starting a war here. It's just TresCrows and I, arguing about something that doesn't exist (he thinks someone said JD oil was King). Grown-ups argue just like kids /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm wondering though. What brand of oil do you use now?
