Which One Would You Buy?

Thanks everyone for the opinions and good advice!

As of right now, I plan on waiting till I turn 59 1/2 (Good Lord Willing) in a few months, and then either tap into my 401k (penalty free) and probably paying cash for a new L3800 with all the options I want or taking advantage of the 0 percent financing.

I'd love to support the local Kubota Dealer with my business (and may do so) but man, saving $2,000. on sales tax by buying out of state sounds attractive too. I know I'd most likely have to pay to have shipped, but that wouldn't be any where near $2,000.
Heck, I "Have Truck, May Travel" and rent a U-Haul car hauler and go get the beast myself. (may have to have one of you guys ride with me so you can look behind us every 5 minutes and make sure it's still on the trailer... I've been known to "clean the shoulders" of road-kills by staring at something new too often in the rear-view mirror

I'm a graduate of the "Jethro Bodine School of Ciphering" and I've been crunching #s the last few months on what the best plan is for me. May have to get my pencil out and figure up Trailer Rental and Gas $ needed to pick one up... And don't forget to figure in a couple "Happy Meals" and plenty of coffee on the way there and back.

Just the looking, pricing, dwelling on, planning and talking to you guys is half the fun. Whichever wise-woman said us men never grow up hit the nail on the head. But a shiny, new Kubota sounds way more enticing to me than a closet full of new shoes and enough make-up and perfume to dress up and accessorize a couple of elephants

Most dealer included delivery in the price but you may be able to save some $$$$$ doing it yourself or getting a rollback to do it.

L3800 is a Very Good choice!

Around here we don't pay sales tax on tractors, or farm equipment. Might want to ask your dealer about that?

I agree with Bluegill2, check on what the sales tax laws are in your state. Texas was easier to not pay sales tax up until this year. When I lived in New York, you had to be farm exempt or a business, but you could also buy out of state. As far as Barlow's, I would email Brady with your plans and see what the cost would be. I do not know what the shipping charge worked out to, but the price to my driveway with shipping, beat all my local dealers price by a quite a bit. I want to say 2-3 grand without pulling the quotes out, and that was before tax for local purchase. I would also like to buy local, but when their prices are too high, what can a guy do?? I also think if you pick the tractor up yourself, then you have to pay sales tax. Only if it is delivered you get around the tax. Good luck and keep us posted.
