How much is that worth to you?

I have had my PT-425 for 16 months, and 220 hours. I've had two minor problems, both easily solved with a call to PT and about an hour of labor!

I would not dream, for my needs, of giving up all the advantages of a PT and putting up with the shortcomings of a CUT, just to have a dealer nearby!!

The engine is serviced by Kohler or Robin. The hydraulics can be serviced by most any hydraulic shop. A welding shop can fix about anything else, and PT parts and advice are just a phone call away!!

Also, remember that a PT-425 has so many less things that can need service: no transmission, no gear shift linkage, no clutch, no differential, no 4WD, no high-low range, no radiator, no water pump, no steering gear, no 3-point hitch, no wheel weights, no lawn damage, no weight box, no front weights, no drive belts, no separate alternator, no sheet metal or fiberglass body parts, etc, etc!!

A PT-425 can be transported in a pickup truck bed, or on a small <2000# trailer!

True!! And when it is, a simple ramp, or a pile of dirt or stone, can provide the extra height!!

( /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Why buy a dump truck when a pickup will do your jobs 99.9% of the time!! You wouldn't drive a dump truck all the time just so that if you ever need to carry 10 tons of stone you can!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

PS: When I received, and returned my DR Chipper on a wooden pallet, my PT-425 had no trouble unloading, or loading, it into the standard trailer of the shipper's full size tractor trailer!! (No ramp, or pile, was needed!)

( by keeping everything out front and using an articulated tractor one can get the same amount of work done with a lighter unit and smaller gas engine.

The PT is so much easier to use, and so much more agile!

For $2500 more ($12K) than the PT425, one could get the PT2425 and two feet more lift. Have to wonder if the 6-7' lift is really required.

99.9% of the time - NO!!
You can build one **** of a ramp for $2500!!

we are in the business and have sustituted several menhours by buying a 425. the 425 lifts in a straight line more than 800lbs and makes less of a mark than the zero turn mowers when working on landscape projects for my customers.
we have the most expensive, upscale quick attach system for our tractors .... for real QA PT is the best

see the pictures of own of our websites Do-it-now-landscaping.com we maintain all these properties mainely with the 425

GOOD LUCK
