Rear Finish Mower WHICH REAR FINISH MOWER?

Travis, have you checked pricing on the Woods finish mowers at Star Equipment in Hammond? They also sell Land Pride. Or at least they did. I know I've seen some on their lot, just not as many as Woods. They may sell them, just don't keep as many in stock. Also check Ascension Equipment in Gonzales. They sell both Bush Hog & Woods. I'm assuming you've already checked on the Bush Hog prices at 4-H Equipment in Denham Springs.

Jarrett,

4-H Equipment wants $2110 plus 9% tax for a Bush Hog RDTH-72.......They said they have 1 in stock and at that price I imagine that it'll stay in stock.

Cecil Graves Tractor Co. in St. Francisville sells Land Pride......They want $1500 plus 8% tax for the FDR1672, hich is an excellent price.......I don't think that anyone else can beat it or will even match it around here for that price.

Lemann's Farm Supply in Donaldsonville wants $1765 plus 8% tax for the Woods 6' Heritage model.........I don't think thats too bad of a price either.

Travis_R,

Jump all over this deal and don't look back. Just make sure you add the anti-scalp roller if it's not included; it's worth the extra money. You may want to consider the pneumatic tires as well; not as critical as the anti-scalp roller. What are you waiting for?

I have a question about the Woods finish mowers. My dealer quoted me $2000 for the PRD6000 and $1650 for the RD60. Are they reasonable prices? I'm leaning towards the PRD6000 but would love others opinions.

Gary,

I was quoted $1765 plus 8% tax for the Woods RD-72. So, I don't think that either one of your quotes is really high......with that said, I was quoted $1500 plus 8% tax for a 6' Land Pride though.

If I were you, I would keep looking around. That is what I am still doing. I have a few more dealers that I can call and get prices.......Besides, I am not going to buy until I sell my old LMC finish mower.

Travis,

I have the Bush Hog RDTH 72 and my dealer in TN sold it for $1700; the anti-scalp roller is a good option on this model also. My dealer did not have this model in stock at the time of purchase, but since BH is made in Alabama, it only took 3 days to get from date of order.

This is a really solid unit (7 guage steel) that seems stouter than FDR 16 model LP. However, I liked the FDR 25 better than the BH due to the more tapered design, higher blade tip speed, and air/slime filled tire option. Reason I got the BH was because it was cheaper than the FDR 25, the dealer I bought my tractor from at the time was not a Landpride distributor, and I financed it @ 0% with my tractor.

That said, I am very happy with the BH - it runs very quiet and gives a great cut. I just need to find some compatable air filled tires which I think would provide a smoother ride with less shock over bumps.

Not trying to sell you on BH, because BH, LP, and Woods are all good units - though Bob Skura would swear Befco RFMs are hands down the best (surprised he hasn't chimed in yet). You just have to see what is the best option in your area...

If you are still interested in the BH and want pics, just let me know.

I just called my local Lands Pride dealership which happens to also be the local NH shop. Over the phone they quoted $2450 + tax + delivery for the 72" RD RFM. At that price, I'll stay with the Woods!

I suppose I could shop around a bit more but I do like my Woods dealer so I may opt to just buy from him - that is if he'll ever return my call. It's just amazing to me that one has to practically beg to get someone to sell me a $2k item.

Chandler Equipment quoted me for $1750 plus 8.5% tax for the Woods 6' Heritage finish mower. Also quoted me for $2100 plus 8.5% tax on the PRD7200 finish mower........I really like this one. I went there and looked at it.

I really like the PRD7200. That's what I hope to get when I get a RFM.

Cool - so the price I got is reasonable.

Now if I could just get the guy to deliver it. I called last Monday and him I wanted it last week. He said it might be tight but he'd call me back. It's now a week+2days without a call. It pains me to have to call repeatedly to beg the dealer to sell me a $2k attachment - well, I suppose if I want the darn thing, I gotta call and pester him.
