To Vita Bene re front mount blower throwing snow farther and less likely to clog, can you please explain. If the same blower was on the same tractor I can't see why there would be a difference from one end to the other as for distance that you could measure or clogging. Assume PTO speeds are the same. I can blow some types of snow up to 50 feet or or more or whatever but don't really care as long as it is out of my way.

Front mount blowers normally, run at a faster speed than a rear...

This DOES make a big difference.

Back in the day when I had a smaller tractor and used a rear mount, pto driven snow blower - the speed that I ran the pto at had a definite affect on how far the blower was going to throw the snow. Likewise, the "type/condition of" the snow had a similar affect on how far the blower would throw it.

Thanks Sawyer Rob. Didn't know the front PTO is a faster speed.

the mid PTO spins faster, but then there's a reduction gearbox on the blower.

I have a Kubota front-mount blower. I'll blow slush without issue. Keep the RPM up and try to keep it loaded. Last year was the first time I've gotten it plugged, in 3+ years of use. 900' sand driveway in northern michigan.
