Tires Which tire type ?

As you can see by the picture you can mix and match. Must admit this is a strange combination. Saw this tractor for sale and had to post it.

Not the first time I have seen that. The R-4 fronts are dimensionally close enough to the R-3's they replace that thay work fine in terms of drive ratios. And R-4's are available with load ratings that will stand up to loader use while the original R-3's and most replacement R-3's have lower load rating numbers.

My TC 45 had R-4s all around and it took a magic stick to get it in and out of four wheel drive. Most of ther time I had to raise the front axle with the loader. I'm sure they must be size compatable but the rear rims have to be different. It must be a turf & field combo. It just makes one look twice. He didn't mention the extra set of wheels in the sale ad. Do you think the dealer set it up this way ?

R-3/R-4 rear rims are different; the fronts are the same. My best guess is the tractor was delivered with turfs and the front rubber was replaced with R-4 rubber. No other rims required.
