Which tooth bar Markham or Wr Long?? Pros & cons

I'm sure there are specific pros and cons to each brand, but my biggest concerns when buying my tooth bar were that it fit my bucket well and that the teeth were the pin on replaceable type. I got both and have no idea what brand it is. It has done a lot of digging with out fail though!

I have a markham toothbar going strong for the last 5 years and it never leaves my bucket might as well be welded on.. paid $230 plus $50 for shipping. Its a 60" with a couple extra teeth added over stock..

I had the WR Long on my BX. Don't know about the Markham, but the Long toothbar has it's own cutting edge, so you're not wearing out the FEL edge. When I was shopping for a toothbar, I noticed that alot of them still relied on the bucket edge. That being said, I'm seriously considering the Piranha from BX Expanded for my B5200. I had the WR Long on my BX. Don't know about the Markham, but the Long toothbar has it's own cutting edge, so you're not wearing out the FEL edge. When I was shopping for a toothbar, I noticed that alot of them still relied on the bucket edge. That being said, I'm seriously considering the Piranha from BX Expanded for my B5200. Is the W.R. Long's possession of it's own cutting edge related to the references I've seen to a W.R. Long FLAT Toothbar, which allegedly allows smooth backdragging?

Or is the "FLAT Toothbar" a different animal entirely?

Ok, I think I've read all the posts but have not seen a comment or question that I have. How forgiving are these toothbars as far as needing a straight edge to attach them? My bucket has a slight curve in it. The center is about a 1/2" to 3/4" lower than the ends (As in having a slight curve from end to end). Is there any flex to accommodate any irregularities with the cutting edge of the bucket?

My toothbar is pretty stiff. Not sure if I could muscle it on to a bend like that or not. I'm thinking it would be about 50/50 with my model.

I've run into the same problem with my bucket Ron. About 3/4" bend. I didn't want to heat it up and bend it as I assume that it would weaken the cutting edge. I removed the bucket and put a hydraulic floor jack with a 2X4 on the lifting arm and pumped it up at the middle of the depression. It's not perfect, but a significant improvement so I believe that I'll be able to attach a tooth bar

I have the WR Long and it way to stiff to bend. Make sure you measure from the inside.
