I'm looking mostly for a tractor to use at my deer camp. I will be running a medium duty bush hog and a disk. The ground is up and down so a 4x4 will have to be a plus and I like the HST vs gears. Not so much mowing on the side of hills at an angle but going down and back up hills most of the time. Definitely want a FEL and the tractor will have to be towable. I have a 1/2 truck now but the next truck will be a 3/4 ton. Looking to buy a trailer that has electric brakes and I think a dual with 5200 pds axles will work. At my home I have a small lot so not so much use for it there. It would be nice to haul sand around in the yard to level it up. Again the tractor will be mostly used for bush hogging and breaking up ground to plant food plots. I was thinking the MX Kubota and no larger than the 5200. Any thoughts on which tractor would fit my needs.

That's too much tractor for a 1/2 ton truck weighing 3,700 pounds without a FEL, loaded tires, or a bush hog.

I have access to a 3/4 ton for hwy transport. I will use the 1/2 ton to pull tractor from plot to plot that are not on county roads

The MX series tractors have an overall width of 70" (72" with R4 tires). Make sure your trailer and implements will fit.

If you want something a bit narrower, consider the L4701. It's a bit less powerful than the MX5200 but it's 400# lighter and about 8" narrower.

The L4701 is a nice little tractor. I think it would be fine for what you are describing.

I don't think you need anymore than a L3301 or L3901 sized tractor to do your work and haul with a half ton.We do similar with a L3000DT and a L3300 4wd and Fel+5 ft. Bush hogs.I had a L3130 that would certainly have done it also;new model is the Grand L 3560.

I don't know if narrower is good for those hills. I wouldn't mind saving a little money to go toward implements. It will need to handle a medium duty bush hog and have enough down pressure to run a disk.

3 pt don't apply down pressure.

First you need to answer a few questions like how many acres are you bush hogging?

How big of disk are you planning to pull?

Will you ever run a tiller?

The size of the tractor is guesstimated off the work needing to be done, so far a BX or 26 Max can do everything you have described.

My siblings and I have 150 acres and we do have a Ford 4630 tractor 2wd at the farm. I do all of my bush hogging with that tractor their. I'm really looking for a 4wd that I can create food plots with and actually make shooting lanes when a pine plantation is thinned. Mostly I will hire a dozer to come in and knock out all of the stumps and then use a tractor to break up the ground. Most of all of my implements are cat 2. We have a 6' disk and I want to get a 6' bush hog brand bush hog. I don't think I will ever run a tiller because of the stumps and rocks.

I really thought about getting a BX at one time but really didn't think I could get much of a bush hog behind it. In all fairness the BX would be used a lot more around my home and my mothers home. You think I could take land that has never seen a plow and turn it up to plant a food plot with a BX tractor. The more I think about it the more it becomes practical to own a BX

Actually there is a 2012 geared l3200 4x4 with like new 6' land pride slip clutch bush hog with 250 hrs for 14,000 locally. I think a l3901 4x4 hst might just be what I'm looking for. Going to the dealership Friday to look.
