Which tractor will fit the bill

I was gonna buy new but ended up buying a 05 with 800 hours on it, I have used it for a year now, put around 80 hours on it and have yet to put a wrench on it.

I paid the same money just got a cab, heavier loader and 15 more HP.

I wouldn't have a cab for woods work, not only would your trails have to be wide enough for the tractor but tall enough to clear the cab, I like my cab don't get me wrong and love it in the winter but I wouldn't take my tractor in the woods either without serious trim work first.

I went by the dealership today and I really liked the L4701. I thought I wanted the L3901 but looking at those two side by side the L4701 seemed like the correct choice. Dealer wants 26500 plus tax for 4701 hst. I can buy a used L4600 with 250 hrs for 21000 and no tax and its a shuttle shift and no warranty. What do you guys think? Zero interest and a warranty or save 7000 and get SS and no warranty. Never had a hst so wouldn't miss it but f I buy new at is what I'm getting. Thanks Ricky

One point to consider is that the L4600 'may' be prior to the new emissions crap. That's a good thing. Others can confirm if that is the case.

250 hours is not a lot. 5% of the tractor's life span. No sales tax is also a plus.

If you finance you will likely pay tax, my bank made me sign a form stating the tractor would only be used for farming so they didn't have to collect tax. Tax would have been another $1600 on a 24k tractor.

Nobody ever said "gee, I wish I had bought a smaller tractor".
That being said, you expressed an interest in using it around your home and your mothers home. Keep in mind that all of the Kubota tractors can do pretty much the same thing but with different sized attachments.
If you know what you expect to do with it you can easily check out the attachments first. That will allow you to see how much tractor is needed for your needs. If you want it for some yard work you might want to stick to a smaller tractor.
You would be surprised how much of a workhorse these machines can be.
