Which ZTR for the job?

Thanks. I think its the Command, but not sure. Will find out tomorrow. Will also check on the wheelbase for you.

I was pretty much set to go for the zf50. But that rebate makes it a tuff decision. I have not seen a ZF, but I have a hustler dealer right here in town so service is available and this thing seems like it will last forever.

If your favorite dealer carries Hustler, then I would say it's the no-brainer. I would want a Command in the Kohler line, or Vangard in the Briggs.

I'm not sure whether Honda makes an economy line or not. We have a Kawaski powered Snapper at the farm; very nice engine.

BTW, I was exactly half serious about the commercial machine; it'd be way overkill, but if you are looking at $5200; a good financing plan could make $6000 [assuming you can find a full commercial for $6K] actually cost less while getting a drivetrain with possibly twice the longevity. I was looking at the ZF50 a year ago too, until I stumbled on a great deal on a previous year commercial machine at the Snapper dealer.

As far as widths, don't worry about my lamebrained concerns - I won't get much computer time over the next few days anyway, but any data you can bring back I'm sure would help those much more knowlegable than me anyway!

Thanks for everyone's help. I called Hustler and no complaints with my local dealer.

Unfortunately, the Kohler engine they use is the Courage (makes no sense!)...thus the big difference in price to the Honda. Having the new rig delivered taking advantage of the $700 rebate and a $500 trade on my old Craftsman. Also ordering the new FlexForks for the front wheels.

Thanks again.

You'll have to post some pictures before/after/during your first mowing with it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It'll be really neat to hear how those flex forks work out too!
