I think it's working as it's intended.
I have a set of the LG Trom series washers and they never seem to fill up more than about 6 inches of water as viewed from the front.
At first I thought that wasn't enough, but as the loads slosh back and forth it seems to work fine. I don't think you need a "full" tank with these front loaders, and in fact, that's supposed to be one of the benefits- using less water.

I actually sat there like a dummy just watching this thing for about 20 minutes once before I was truly convinced that ALL the clothes were, in fact, being washed:)

good luck,anthony

I think if you go here you'll see the model he's talking about, it's a top loading washer, you can even see a video.

Whoa! That is completely different than what I was picturing.
It's not a front loader at all.
I watched the video, and it sure SEEMS convincing.
Hmmm. Now I wonder though, if looks are deceiving.
The ones I have are front loaders and work great.

Richard?

Which model of Cabrio do you have? We just bought a new Cabrio washer about 5 months ago, and my wife absolutely loves hers, so much that she has forgiven me for buying my new Mahindra without her!!

The Cabrio line has several different models, some with the "old style" agitator, and some with the new style "disc" at the bottom of the tub. We have the one with the "old style" agitator.

Which is yours?

Yea, don't want ot run this thread in another direction, but I like using our front loader Bosch, almost three times the load lots less water, and half the drying time.

We got the WTW 6600 with the see through door on top. It has the wash plate and no agitator.

Good to hear all these positive reports. She was out of town couple days and last night she did another load...I need to see what her thoughts are now that she's had time to get over her initial (and highly negative) reaction to this.

Yikes...

We bought this washer & had it delivered tonight. First thing wife did was put in a 'twin' sized quilt. This thing just sat there and the water level NEVER exceeded the height of this quilt. When the agigating happened, it just went back/forth, rolling the quilt into a ball which threw the dynamics of the machine WAY off when it went into spin cycle. Wife tried to undo the ball but it continued to make the machine wobble.

Finally, I get home & try it again.... this is a very different machine than our 'normal' Kenmore.

I've been on the phone with Whirlpool, to try to make sure that we're doing everything properly. I finally told the guy "it really seems as though this washer, instead of filling the water to a certain level and agitating the clothes, it rather seems to spray the items, spin them (to squeeze the water out) spray them down again, more spin...spray/spin....

They finally said my drain hose was stuck too far down the drain (wasn't)

So.... for anyone that has one of these... DO you like it? is it that different than a regular washer? Is there ANYTHING you can do, to FORCE it to prove it can HOLD water??

As it is right now...the wife absolutely hates this thing and is ready to call them haul it back. We paid about $900 for it specifically because of its capacity to do a quilt like she did today.

As it is... unless we're doing something wrong, its days here are numbered. I really don't want to deal with trying to return a now used washing machine (even if it was a single item)...just something wrong about that...then again... having the wife ticked off every time she uses this for the next 15 years isn't a good idea either...

Anyone have any helpful/constructive advice for me?

You just described my experience to a T. I bought the Cabrio 7800 so I could wash Queen size bed linens, and when I washed a quilt, it balled up and sent the machine into orbit. It turned the drum about one and a half turns and slammed it against the side walls, and shut the machine down. I called Whirlpool and the agent never told me to open the lid and rearrange the quilt. I finally figured out to do that, but it never seemed to do anything but continue to ball the quilt up and shut the machine down. Over and over, I rearranged the quiltl, until I finally got it to spin out the water. I never felt like the quilt got thoroughly clean. I put in a load of all white clothes, and one colored sock, and watched the entire load. The sock remained on the top of the load the entire time. It never moved to the bottom or even the sides. After washing clothes for over 40 years, I think I know enough about the process to know that the clothes have to move around in the washer to get clean. I am concidering calling the Lowes store and have them come get this washer. I would never recommend this washer to anyone. Trouble is, I don't want to have to shell out the additiona $500 for pedestals for the front load washer and dryer.

The Whirlpool front loaders are no prize either... our Duet "Sport" (whatever the hel* "sport" has to do with a washing machine eludes me) has been known to wander out to the extent of it's hoses and cords while on the spin cycle. We added non-skid strips under the legs, which helps a bit.

Even with the pedestal, getting the clothes in and out is a pain if you're six feet tall.

A single garment wash is nearly impossible, since it won't balance properly.

Won't let you open the door under most conditions, only when it's satisfied that it's safe to do so.

It does clean the clothes well and is easy on water, other than that there isn't much I like about it.

Our old GE was on it's third tranny in 15 years, and even at that I wish I still had it.

Whirlpool appliances in general have gone downhill in the past while. New dishwasher is supposed to be the super-quiet model, makes more noise than the old one...

We had one the word is HAD it would not wash a quilt/comforter for nothing which was same as you buy it so we can wash them & it had the low profile disk type agitator & didnt work at all the daughter washed one of here at the laundry mat and it left un-dissolved detergent in hers then we tried our brand new one was first load in the machine it never even got the detergent wet... same results with ours which had some drywall mud dropped on top when the roof leaked some. same thing we sent it back to lowes and they were great gave us a different machine which we are very happy with it is NOT one of those low profile disk type machines it is older style full use with auto load filling Maytag unit. cost was more for the maytag lowes let us have it for the same price as the other one. good people to deal with.

I dont know if this really relates to your thread, but I bought the wife an LG laundry pair about 6 months ago, the Washer is a top loader without and agitator with the matching dryer. They are gun-metal gray and very attractive. They both work extremely well and the washer will take huge quilt loads and really does a good job. She is very pleased and proud of them both, and shows them off to all her friends. They are all electronic, extremely quite, and have a lot of settings, but seem easy to operate. We purchased them at Lowes, and the pair was about 1800 bucks. I was a little put off at the price if the things, but she is so pleased with them, I guess it helped me get the Pallet forks, and the QA adapter for my L3400HST:laughing:
