Just got a new to me 1977 White 2-70 diesel. I am changing fluids and have found some confusion on what is supposed to go in the Over/Under and the transmission/rear end. The White owners manual says hydraulic fluid in both. The I&T shop manual I just got said Type A transmission fluid in the O/U and 80-90 in the trans/rear end. That is what I just drained out. I could believe Type A in the O/U but 80/90 in the transmission sounds way too thick to pump thru the filter, especially on a cold startup. Is this some owners recommendation as opposed to the official White recommendation because of some kind of field issue people were seeing? What fluids should I be using for this tractor? Thanks in advance.
