Hello,
Considering a Ford 2110 4 cyl desiel that I haven't seen yet. The owner says it has some white blow by. Right now I'm figuring its a coolant leak from either a blown head gasket or cracked block. I hope to make the 300 mile trip to see the tractor this weekend. I'm looking for advice on pinpointing the cause of the blow by while I'm there. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'll assume this is from the breather not the stack?

Look for oil in water/water in oil. Any white smoke that doesn't clear up after warm up is deffinately a sign of a problem. I've seen a few 'white' smoke fuel issues however.

If someone has a 2110 or similar tractor I'm sure they will be along in a few to help you with some specifics.

White smoke is usually unburned fuel. Blue smoke is usually from motor oil finding its way into the combustion chamber. Of course there can be many reasons for each.

Yes.. BUT.. I would expect white smoke from unburned fuel from the stack.. if this white smoke is from the breather.. it is a different problem entirely..
