White Christmas in Texas

Come winter Lloyd I usually have some nice warm clothes in the truck and the wife has some in the car.

Course right n ow the camper is still on so there is a second home!

We are fortunate here in that it doesn't seem to get that cold when the storms come thru. Out west it was quite common to have it at -20C or less with a nice wind blowing. It made for solid drifts and little visibility.

Here are some more pictures from yesterday as the snow started to melt. My neighbor has been stranded in Wichita Falls, TX for the past two days and called to ask if we could check on their house. We did that and made a round on our place too, taking pictures the whole way. Eddie Walker had asked about pond and lake pictures with snow, so here are a few for Eddie.

Our road still had a few bad spots where the snow had refrozen on hills, so I went back out yesterday to scrape off the ice and make the road passable for our neighbors. While I was out, Kathy took our cats for a walk and took pictures of them in the snow. This was their first real snow and they really did pretty well. Kathy also decided to commemorate the event by making her very own Snow-Cat. I think it's pretty darn creative.

Thanks for the pictures Jim. Looks great there. Barbara sent me some pictures from Princeton and there was only about a inch there. Just my luck, first white Christmas in 80 years and I missed it.

Hey Jim. I started to start my own thread on the white Christmas of 2009 until I saw yours. Yes, we got it too. Ours started on Thursday with rain, followed with sleet and then snow....sideways snow!....and lots of it! This is where our Northern buds and give us a hard time! Around here they say Oklahoma City got 14 inches and our area got 8-9 inches. Personally, I don't see how they can tell when it come at you at a right angle to the ground! Anyway, it's nice to look at and sure makes some pretty nights as well with the half moon we've had the last few nights. I'll post a few of our pics as well.

BTW, Hey Eddie, I've included a partial pond pic just for you!
