- White Field Boss 31
I have a White Field Boss 31 and have a problem with the 4 wheel drive engauging. There is a lever that shifts the 4w in and out. This lever used to have a little bit of a resistance to it. It doesn't anymore. I drained the oil and looked up into the gearcase but couldn't find anything much. The lever is connected to a rod that runs along the outside of the case down to a lever that runs into the case on the left side. When I was under the case looking thru the bottom cover I could slide one of the gears left and right, engauging the 4wheel i think. I did not take off the other cover where the actuator lever is connected though. I left the gear in the position I thought was engauged and put back together. The 4 wheel worked for a little bit. Now this was in the middle of the winter and I needed to get the driveway snow blowed so I was in a hurry. After I would say about one pass I did not have 4wd again. I let it go until now I would like to blow snow again this winter so I need it fixed. My brother looked into it and found that the lever that does the actuation was worn off. He made a replacement but still no 4wd.
Does anyone have any ideas that can let me know how this is supposed to operate or what I can check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You.
