White River flooding

Wow Jim that looks impressive.

The view from your porch....

Can you normally see the river, or is all this water in a flood plain, or banking up a creek or something??

We have "blue sky" flooding in our town. Our river (Fitzroy) has an immense catchment area, so it can rain hundreds of km away and we get flooded out here.

We are well overdue for one, the last in 1991. We have been in this town for 7 years and not seen a major one.

One day..........

For a minute I thought the pictures where of the White River in Vermont about 50 miles north of me, but I have not seen the levels of the other rivers around here up that high.

Nice view you have there.

Jim,

We will take the water. One of the lakes in our area is a bit low and unless we get some rain they will have to purchase more expensive water from lake ontario. On the other hand I don't want it to rain too much, since that will delay my building project. Oh well. I will be living off a well anyway.
