Does not matter I usually put the person's name first and my post, just like I did for you. Sometimes I will quote, like above, so the person knows what I am posting to, but sometimes I just post, it just depends I guess what your point is.

One thing I hate are people who answer 8 posts in a row all separate posts with a quote in each post, why not do it in one post IF you have that much to say. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

retaildragger, I had the same problem, I don't know how much tractor experience you have but I didn't have any I bought my tractor with turf tires because my inexperience told me the wider the tire the more traction. Well, I learned the hard way this was not the case. I called my dealer and he said a new set of R4s would set me back $2400.00 minus $500 for my turfs OUCH!!! I checked around and found a dealer about 2 1/2 hrs away his deal was $ 2200.00 filled minus $1000.00 for the turfs. When I picked up my tractor he had also widened the stance to allow me to use chains if I need to. It was an expensive lesson but I found the dealer I'm going to stay with. The difference in the traction is like night & day. I'm very happy with them

Yeah, you guys got slammed worse than us this year. Of course, as soon as I posted this it began to snow and gave us somewhere around 10" of cement like snow. Real special! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I'm not familiar with that model, but I haven't had any real issues with my BX2200 and turf tires. Does the 245 have 4 wheel drive? Have you tried pushing the snow off to a 45 degree angle with the loader and working your way up and down the driveway like that? That way you are clearing smaller sections and the tractor is always running in a cleared spot.

Heater yes, radio no. Guess I could add that though! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's perfectly acceptable to reply to a reply, just try not to change the subject of the origional posting.

Bob & Guy,
Buying used I did not really have a choice of tires, but i didn't think the turf tires would have such poor traction. I looked for 2 years for a economical tractor and they all seemed to be in Alabama, Texas or some other place so far away that freight killed the deal. This one came from 150 miles away and the FEL sealed the deal for me. The L245DT is four wheel drive (DT = Dual Traction) but that still doesn't cut it on my super steep driveway. I do scrape hard and try to clear diagonally but it is still too slippery. I am desperate to get the chains on and have looked into wheel spacers. Unlike other rims i have seen, mine are welded and do not have different depth adjustments. I have read a few times that swapping the rears side-to-side can widen the track, but the physics of that elude me unless each rim has a different offset. I have not yet been able to get an operators manual and that might shed some information.

Thanks for all the help from everybody.
