greetings fellow hunters!
i know its 6 am , and i'm behind a dang computer and not in a tree stand ... i'll be there this weekend.
anyway, lets see some pictures of how your deer season is going thus far. as for me, ive been out once with my bow, and twice with my camcorder. nice footage of a little 6 pointer coming in at sun up last sunday. just now finding scrapes, so he wasnt too awful interested in the calls.
i will work on capturing a still from the video and try to upload it. be safe and good luck.

Well I hope your season is going better than mine. I have had problems with anti hunters at one of my stands. They were throwing bars of scented soap around the stand. So I rigged up a camera to see who it was, you guessed it, They came back at night and the flash tipped them off! they came back with bolt cutters and stole my camera! and put something else on the ground that stinks! Now I'm going to order the parts I need today to make a wireless video camera and hook it up to the VCR here at the house. Since this stand is only about 600 ft. from the house it should be easy to do. Its just going to cost about $300.00! plus I already lost the $250 that I paid for the other camera. When and if I catch this A**hole I hope I can get my other camera back! Or at least get some payback! Good luck in your hunts!

Season opens this Saturday for us. Also, I believe that Quebec is one of the only places in North America that allows hunting on Sunday.

This year I dropped out of our group's land lease - 600 acres along the New York border. Wasn't crazy about the other guys and now the farmer is getting involved in the much ballyhooed industrial hog operation (he's raising piglets for the local operation). I won't support that. So, I'm hunting alone on a friend's farm. It's only 20 acres - not enough to hold them - but they do use his land like a highway.

Good luck to you all.

New Hamsphire allows hunting on Sunday
but only during the hunting season. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Vermont as well.
NH Muzzleloader starts this weekend.
Out look for the state is average
maybe slightly down. Down here in the southern part
it's a chore driving home at dusk.

HOLLY CRAP,It's tough enough to harvest a nice Whitetail with a Bow,let alone this kind of B.S. also. Good luck to you Von on your endevers,I hope you can catch them on film, and be able to do something about it.

An honest, ethical, hunter should not have to deal with type of intervention....

Anti in this area blow there horns & leave nasty grams on the windshield & take a walk thru now and than..so far.

You may have to spend little extra time in the woods{after dark}to catch these clowns.

I hope your new idea works and 110% justice...if caught stick it to them and break it off!!

Now those are some nice shots Dave.... At first I thought they were going to be before and after shots. :) Now that would be a neat trick but then the big buck (champion) would probably hear the shutter and leave. ha,ha. :( Goodluck everyone and remember we have heads w/brains so let's keep using them when out there and be safe!

Here in Wisconsin, Chronic Wasting Disease is a concern. The deer herd is estimated to be at or near record level. And I've not taken the bow out of it's case, and I passed on the early T zone for anterless only.

A hunter needs a program to follow all the rules. We have special hunts in the "Eradication Zone", early and late anterless only T zones, archery, black powder, etc.

Very concerned about CWD and the tradition of deer hunting. Special precautions to handle harvested animals. Use disposable knives, latex gloves, etc. I know venison won't be on the table this year.

Wisconsin is the first state outside of the then known western region of the disease. Many think it will be found in many regions of Wisconsin. Quite possibly, if random testing would be performed in various states across the country, CWD is more widely spread than we know. Maybe we don't want to know.

sorry to hear about your anti hunters, i know how frustrating that is. here in indiana we have a criminal law, against that called hunter harrassment. here are a few tips i teach, in the hunter education course i teach occassionally for the state;
dont stoop to there level, it only fuels there fire.
carry a disposable camera with you , and if you are confronted take there pics, also and better still there vehicle, and plate number. if they ask why you did that explain to them that if your car is damaged when you return, you have suspect information.make sure your name is inscribed on your gear, to make it easier to retrieve or prosecute. i know some may say well they will know who i am, but our dnr laws state that stands left unattended on state property must have name and phone number. i use my work # i am a sheriff's deputy. best of luck with these idiots. by the way have you contacted your local conservation officer?

von; i can't hunt anymore due to physical reasons, but bow hunting was one of my true loves. can't understand why anties can get away with some of the things they do. when u hunt in a leagal manner, and anti hunters disrupt that hunt they are basically breaking the law. hope u get your camera back and a small amt. of revenge.

NY just took a sample of 1000 deer across the state and found no trace of CWD. So far we are still free of CWD.

Wouldn't your homeowners cover your camera? Also, NY has a law preventing hunter harrasment. Call the DEC or Police and tell them so they can watch for anyone around your area. I had my camera specificly mentioned on my howowners policy so that if it is ever stolen they will replace it for me. I really don't know if there is a deductable but in my case it is worth it since I have the Digital Camtrakker which cost $1250. That is the reason I made sure it was insured just in case. We had problems here with poachers and the land we bought is where they would poach their deer. They tried to get in there a couple times but we threw them out everytime we caught them. I figure if they found the camera it would either be stolen or destroyed. I do hope you catch them though.

These three little bucks are right behind our house.

You can see why they were up here. They wouldn't cross the ditch because Bucky was in the pen to the left. SOME reason they were scared of a 5year old 10pt? The pen to the right has the fawns from this year.
