Now those are some nice shots Dave.... At first I thought they were going to be before and after shots. :) Now that would be a neat trick but then the big buck (champion) would probably hear the shutter and leave. ha,ha. :( Goodluck everyone and remember we have heads w/brains so let's keep using them when out there and be safe!

Here in Wisconsin, Chronic Wasting Disease is a concern. The deer herd is estimated to be at or near record level. And I've not taken the bow out of it's case, and I passed on the early T zone for anterless only.

A hunter needs a program to follow all the rules. We have special hunts in the "Eradication Zone", early and late anterless only T zones, archery, black powder, etc.

Very concerned about CWD and the tradition of deer hunting. Special precautions to handle harvested animals. Use disposable knives, latex gloves, etc. I know venison won't be on the table this year.

Wisconsin is the first state outside of the then known western region of the disease. Many think it will be found in many regions of Wisconsin. Quite possibly, if random testing would be performed in various states across the country, CWD is more widely spread than we know. Maybe we don't want to know.

sorry to hear about your anti hunters, i know how frustrating that is. here in indiana we have a criminal law, against that called hunter harrassment. here are a few tips i teach, in the hunter education course i teach occassionally for the state;
dont stoop to there level, it only fuels there fire.
carry a disposable camera with you , and if you are confronted take there pics, also and better still there vehicle, and plate number. if they ask why you did that explain to them that if your car is damaged when you return, you have suspect information.make sure your name is inscribed on your gear, to make it easier to retrieve or prosecute. i know some may say well they will know who i am, but our dnr laws state that stands left unattended on state property must have name and phone number. i use my work # i am a sheriff's deputy. best of luck with these idiots. by the way have you contacted your local conservation officer?

von; i can't hunt anymore due to physical reasons, but bow hunting was one of my true loves. can't understand why anties can get away with some of the things they do. when u hunt in a leagal manner, and anti hunters disrupt that hunt they are basically breaking the law. hope u get your camera back and a small amt. of revenge.

NY just took a sample of 1000 deer across the state and found no trace of CWD. So far we are still free of CWD.

Wouldn't your homeowners cover your camera? Also, NY has a law preventing hunter harrasment. Call the DEC or Police and tell them so they can watch for anyone around your area. I had my camera specificly mentioned on my howowners policy so that if it is ever stolen they will replace it for me. I really don't know if there is a deductable but in my case it is worth it since I have the Digital Camtrakker which cost $1250. That is the reason I made sure it was insured just in case. We had problems here with poachers and the land we bought is where they would poach their deer. They tried to get in there a couple times but we threw them out everytime we caught them. I figure if they found the camera it would either be stolen or destroyed. I do hope you catch them though.

These three little bucks are right behind our house.

You can see why they were up here. They wouldn't cross the ditch because Bucky was in the pen to the left. SOME reason they were scared of a 5year old 10pt? The pen to the right has the fawns from this year.
