Scotty, aren't you a little bit ashamed :ashamed: of that Mitsubishi center piece? :D

I know....I know....anyone have a spare Yanmar center cap they want to get rid of??

The gauges are normal 2 inch gauges from sunpro. I used equus in my 70 Commando with good results too. I bought a whole bunch of adaptors to go along with it.

My plan is to tie into the oil pressure by using a T. This way I will still have the warning light as well as actual pressure. For the temperature I plan on using a toyota adaptor that I have to cut the upper radiator hose. Its been on back order for awhile but I think it will fit (32mm) the inside diameter of my upper radiator hose. Doing this will still give me the temp warning light AND give me actual temp although it won't read true temperature until after the thermostat opens and coolant flows by the sensor. For voltage I am just going to tie it into the ignition switch or something similiar

I will have to drill a hole under where the gauge pod sits to route the wires etc and plan on sealing it with some firewall puddy by 3M. Once the temp adaptor comes in and I have a free day I will tackle this and try to document

I have some black paint! :D j/k

Scotty and deepNdirt so far looks good! I am just throwing this out because its happened to me I added gages to mine also about a year ago.

I had tee'd my oil pressure gage in and about a week ago I am mowing and I see all this oil squirting all over the left front of my tractor sonofa.

I shut it down and I find the brass nipple I used to extend the oil pressure sender and oil light sender out had cracked. I had plenty of oil pressure and the light never came on but I spewed almost 3 qts of oil in a brown streak all over my yard.

Now I am using a thick walled 1/8' npt black pipe nipple just food for thought these diesels vibrate a lot.

Scotty, is the oil pressure electric or mechanical ? The reason I ask is because my 2210 ate two sunpro's. Found a HF no name for $5 and have had no trouble with it failing. All three were/are mechanical.

Car doc - good tip....will try to use black pipe or galvi when possible.

9 fingers - this gauge is mechanical....wonder if you got a bad batch...seems like all these gauges come from china....so who knows. But I will certainly keep my eye on it

Finally got some time to tinker on the tractor. I installed some wiring and water proof switches where the horn button was for LED lights to be installed at a later date, replaced the directional light switch - not sure why but since I was in the dash I figured I mine as well. Also installed a new ignition switch...and the gauges/gauge pod and flushed out the radiator - Thanks Ernie for the advice of leaving a hose on while it drained and the engine ran....really worked well. Put 50/50 mix back in...Will that be ok for the winters in the New England?

What a pain the #$%@ to get the behind the dash and behind the gas tank. Never did figure out how to do it so I had to be a bit of a contortionist to get the gauge pod mounted. Attemped to remove the steering wheel but gave up because none of my pullers could get a grip on the steering wheel.

I drilled a 5/8 in hole just behind the dash and installed a grommet around it and plumbed all of the gauge stuff - gauge lights, temp sender probe, voltage leads and oil pressure line. I kept the original temp sending unit in the block but installed a 30 mm adaptor in the upper radiator hose that had to be drilled and tapped to fit the temp probe. It works but takes awhile to sense temperature since the engine really needs to warm up before coolant flows. I also kept the original oil pressure sensor but t'd off of it and added the copper oil pressure line. A pretty tight fit but should be fine. When I put the gauge pod right side up and bolted it down, I used some 3M firewall puddy to seal out any moisture that might get in and down in the back of the dash. You can see it in the pictures as it looks crappy but its not like caulk where you can smooth it very well. It is a tractor so I am just looking for functional.

Was pretty pleased to see 50 psi oil pressure on start up and about 45 running.:):):)

Thanks for the great photos. Now I know how to hook up my incoming gauges
