ABU, built in South Dakota, somewhere.
I bought from a dealer.
I took it from their stock, so I picked it up.
Wood deck, untreated, beginning to show it's age now. (1997)
Mine is a "Car-Hauler" type trailer.
With a Dove tail; 16' flat, 2' dovetail.
It came with used Radials (LT235-75R-15), recently replaced.
7000# GVW, with brakes on all 4 wheels.
Yes, the price was right at $1400 (1997).

This trailer has served me well, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have gone with a 10K or 12K weight rating for more capability.

Well, thanks guys, so far I haven't seen the unit I am considering and I don't want to lead anyone down the garden path so I'll keep quiet for now. I am not cheap, just a might frugal and have just about researched this to death and am leaning toward picking one up at the manufacturer to eliminate the middleman. Until the deal is done anything can change though. Now I like the tilting idea.
One thing for certain though, you are all luckier than me right now.
Thank you all very much.

Can anyone say a (positive or negative) word or two about Anderson equipment trailers?
Thanks,
Martin

I got an Anderson Trailer 2 years ago and have not had any trouble with it. Down here in S. Florida most seem to have Anderson Trailers. I haul my 3010 with it. The one i have is a 12,000 lb equipment trailer. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask me.

Ummm, could you guys give me more reasons to get a tilt bed? Other than loading my tractor faster? 4,300 seems to be a lot of money for poor folks. And I'd imagine I could pull out and place ramps fairly quickly.

Help me justify it. I've never used one..

A tilt trailer can reduce the loading angle. The height of the bed is spread over half the trailer length on a tilter, more or less, and the ramps on a fixed bed are usually only about four or five feet in length. If you have a non adjustable implement (backhoe) hanging a long way from the tractor tires it can drag the ground when loading / unloading if the angle of entry is too great.
There may be other benefits but this is the most obvious to me.
Best of luck,
Martin

Just bought a trailer Saturday.

Mfg: Hefty

Picked up from dealer.

Wood deck; pressured treated 2" wood

dove tail with spring loaded ramps

16" 10 ply radial tires, new

would buy again. Dealer I bought my tractor from has used them for years. Very happy with them. I especially like the spring loaded ramps. With my bad back, I can't lift much.

This is a 20' trailer, two 6k axles, one with brakes, 2-5/16" bulldog hitch.

No picture yet, maybe soon.

Yes, w/o hesitation. This is a very well built unit, and my 14 footer weighs in at sub-1,000# but still has a 7,500# rating. It could carry a 6,000+# load if need be. The tow vehicle can also be smaller if necessary, w/o exceeding the GVWR. Aluminum shows no signs of deterioration after 2 years. It cleans up easily with soap/water. Only downside is lack of EZ lube hubs. It has the old-fashioned standard ones--- a little messy.

With a tilt trailer you also don't have to carry or lift heavy ramps. My favorite feature is the full width loading ramp. By that I mean that if you are loading when it is early morning and there is dew on the conventional ramps or if the tractor tires are wet it is easy to slip off or slide on steel ramps. But when you use a wide tilt bed to climb up it is much tougher to slip off the edge. Safety first. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
