Tractor
Kubota 7030, Long Landtrac 4700, Mahindra 5155
I am searching for a 45-55 HP tractor with FEL and, hopefully, a power shuttle for durability, new or used <2K hrs. Something like the Kubota M5040 (I have a 7030). In my search I have discovered most of the S. Korean tractors are a conglomeration of other manufactures parts. Some of the Japanese tractors may be too. Yanmar may be the exception, but $51K is way out of my price range. While search specs, I find some of the tractor models were only built for one or two years so parts will be a problem. Koiti, MF, Kubota, Mahindra have so many models and some are light and have 24 inch rears, I want 26inch and 4000 lbs. Not sure a hydrostatic 45 hp with 24's will handle a 6 ft HD rotary mower and 2 bottom 16" plows. My budget is $35-40K (delivered) max!

Dealers are an hour and a half + away so I am trying to do my research on line. Thank you.

Ha, you think? Kukje for the past 60 years makes Yanmar tractor parts out of KOREA. Kukje is now owned by TYM from KOREA.

RK tractors are TYM machines with Kukje parts and Yanmar engines. Sold at your local Rural King Farm stores nation wide.

RK tractors are a better price point vs. a Yanmar outright or a Deere for that matter.

Mahindra is joined to the hip with Mitsubishi. And the CEO of Mitsubishi heads up Mahindra!

Mahindra tractors are moving towards being Mitsubishi powered.

I believe Deere is still one of the best companies for parts availability across the years and models and they are also a conglomeration of foreign parts.

Seems like I read about parts problems for TYM-Branson, Mahindra, Kioti, etc. far more often than Deere.

As a rule John Deere and Kubota build their own stuff. One exception is the smaller John Deere’s use a Yanmar engine. If your looking for a deal in the size your looking at used is probably the way to go.

Are you stuck on only 4000lbs or is that just a minimum? For 35-40k I think a very low hour(less than 500) JD 5055E is the best value out there. Quite a few available on tractor house or machinery Pete. First thing I look at is bare tractor weight . These 4wd open station bare tractor weigh 5500lbs , substantially heavier than most 55hp tractors. Standard loader that comes with them is 520m , very stout and heavy built loader with 3500lb lift capacity @ bucket pin.
Bare tractor and loader going to weigh 7500lbs plus. Compare that number to any of the others you might be considering. Don’t underestimate weight to get more work done. Available with 12 speed power reverser transmission
Standard tires 16.9-24 and 9.5 -24 on front , if that works for you.
Have you gone and done a walk around at your local dealerships for any models your interested in? Even if you’re going to buy used which I think is by far your best bet you can still look at new ones, get an idea of build quality.

Kubota is all Kubota. Except for the M8, that is a Cummins powered Versatile.

Which of the current Deere 1, 2, 3, and 4 series does Deere build vs built by others? Some or all of them are Yanmar powered. Does Yanmar build the whole tractor?

Quick look through tractor data shows all 1 thru 4 series built in about last 10 years are made in Georgia and use Yanmar engines. So Deere built tractors but Yanmar engines.

I think too much weight is placed on easy parts availability.
A good used LOW HOUR tractor from any of the major brands is unlikely to ever need any specialized parts... Ever.... Ask around. Read the forum. Tractors are very reliable.

Sure you see people post about problems here on TBN, but those are the exceptions or owner-caused. Most tractors go decades between any needs at all.
The things tractos need are maintenance items and universal parts. Both easy to find.

And.... a good used LOW HOUR major brand tractor is probably less expensive to buy than a brand new lower quality "wanna be" brand.

And if an unlikely distaster does strike - and that good LOW HOUR major brand tractor does need special parts - you still stand a better chance of getting those parts.

Frankly I wish it were otherwise, and that the "wanna be" brands had equal support. That would make for a more interesting world for sure. But that's not how it works.

I own a John Deere 2025r and it’s a 2019 model year. I believe 2018 is when John Deere started making them in Georgia.

Built or assembled??

There's a big difference in a factory or foundries casting/machining most of the parts and then assembling them into a tractor, instead of getting parts from factories in china, india ect. and assembling a tractor out of them.

You never replied in that other thread with how that tractor was quoted- 51k is ridiculously high for a 359 open station- recommendations on which tractors to get quotes on are gonna be based on normal pricing, so apps to apples

There’s a new Yanmar YT ROPS for sale in Louisiana for thirty-two thousand. Heck of a bargain if you ask me.

That was a pure marketing move on the part of Kubota to expand their product presence. Same applies to ALL their hay tools, None of them are physically made by Kubota and most of them are produced in Italy and rebadged Kubota. I know I own one of their Round Bailers and interestingly, the owners manual comes printed in English and Italian and deciphering it can be a challenge at times.

Good thing is they bought good brands to market under their name.
