Yes, this is obviously a "spin" from another thread. My 275 may not last the two more years that I had budgetted...(although it doesn't owe me a nickel) I'm tallying up the essential repairs, reassessing, and couldn't resist starting a new thread. ;)

With all the emissions on tractors these days,, I don't know that I would want a brand new anything ,until I see how all this stuff works out.. I'm sure There will be bugs with all the new emissions

Not me, I don't use a tractor for a business so I have no need for a brand new Kubota.

Funny, I thought a Kubota was the economical tractor choice.

The L275 is one of my favorite models, I'd keep it until I couldn't get parts for it. They truly don't make them like that anymore.

I just bought my 4th kubota an mx 5200. I have gotten my use and depreciation on all my tractors. If you consider the fact of keeping up on new technology, staying up with the value of new tractors as prices continue to rise, the maintenance expense on older tractors, the benefits of a warranty and tax write offs it is hard not to take advantage of the 0 for 60 on a new model. I figure the same thing with my trucks, I trade them in on new trucks just to keep up with pricing and having them under warranty. The sticker shock of buying a new truck if you trade in a 12 year old truck is hard to take. So I prefer to keep a small payment going particularly if you can get 0 percent and keep newer stuff.

You must be getting a special deal... Most that buy new tractors,, say 0% isn't a good deal .... You can buy the tractor cheaper getting a loan at a bank ,or paying cash.... Just an example::: I buy a new tractor for 10 K cash,, or I buy a tractor for 15 K and get 0% interest . ...There are no free rides... someone pays

I looked a long time before buying what I have, and chose it partly based on my father's advise. Along with many other brands he'd had 4 kubotas (L245, L275, L2550, and a little 2WD 185) and the 275 was his favorite, at least until he got his 2800HST. The only thing I wish it had was power steering; you almost lose your fingers when the front tire spins then catches a stump.

I've been rather surprised to find that there are still some low hours machines around, in better condition than mine was when I bought it.
I may have problems with the final drives, which is why I'm looking around.

It seems strange for someone to think that a Kubota is expensive, I wonder what they compared it to! We sell them all day long and they run thousands of hours and for price, we are in line with the other makes and often lower priced. The quality is there and they certainly can't be quality issue when I here so many people try and tell me they are all the same. That's not an uncommon line coming from someone trying to justify there product to a leader in the industry. Reading the posts here knowing what market share is it is quite obvious they just might not all be the same!

We all value things differently and if you only need a tractor for an average of two hours a week you might be able to get away with less quality as maybe you like the color better. The thoughts of needing a tractor to run 30 to 40 hours a week sure does put a different spin on things!

Kenmac you are absolutely correct there are no free rides. It is true I could have bought the tractor cheaper by paying cash as Kubota had a cash price discount. In my case I felt the value I got from a trade in for my old tractor which needed work, the convenience of the dealer assisted 0 percent, the additional discount with a purchased implement and the fact that I did not have to come up with more cash or a 5% bank loan was worth the difference to me. I guess everyone has to determine where the break point is for what they consider a good deal, in my case I am not chasing the very least expense as my first priority although it is important. I realize there is a loss associated with a trade in and the depreciation of a new tractor however I know I did not inherit someone else's problems and the tractor is on warranty as well as it is a mean working machine. The overall package I felt was fair to me and the dealer.

Thanks for your feedback,
