Henro - You did not say why you are asking. You didn't do the same did you?

I did once just barely touch the blade on my smaller bandsaw (wood cutting 12") and it was a "wow, that was close! " /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif moment to say the least. My larger saw has about 1 tooth per inch. I really would not like my finger or any part of my body touching that one when it was moving!

The reason I asked this question was that I wanted to send a short PM to the original poster, but did not remember who it was...and could not think of a way to find out without asking... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I did try searching for finger and bandsaw but had no luck.

Ron mentioned that the tread started to go down hill...not sure if I saw the last posts or not. I posted towards the end. Maybe I need to put my /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif face on! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think I'll let that question remain unasked though... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey I hope that you still have all 10 fingers to do your welding. Hope it wasn't too serious, Sorry I missed the other thread altogether. A day late and a dollar short is my motto.

Unfortunatly, few people read, let alone follow, those safety signs, even the serious ones. Years back I worked in a maintenance dept. There was an official looking sign on the wall that stated "Do not kick the Aardvarks". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Never did see an aardvark though. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Always remember.

"Anything with sharp teeth eats meat."

That includes all types of saws etc.

Yeah but Ron - ya gotta remember - my friend didn't make that sign up for me until AFTER I had cut my thumb.

Of course I guess it's pretty a given that if ya really need the sign, ya probably shouldn't have a bandsaw .... or anything sharp or pointed for that matter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have had a few injuries over the years. I doubt that the sign would have helped me either. Every time I see one of these post I get a chill that goes through my whole body. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Ron whenever I get a real good cut I normally march right in the house and ask the wife if she's got a band-aid while holding up the bloody stump. She passes out cold every time. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It keeps her on her toes.

I did major damage to a finger with a 3 lbs mallet last June. Wife was helping me. She claims that she knew I was going to hit my finger. But never said anything. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
At the ER she watched the whole operation to repair my miscalculation. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I looked the other way while doctor was working on my finger. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Explain how your wife can stay on her toes when she has passed out cold. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
