Who has a DS4110 or DS4510 ?

The tractor is much more closely related to the Old DK series than the new DK SE series.

Maybe. But it has the exact same engine as the DK40se, has electrohydraulic PTO, same 3pt capacity, same loader capacity, same size tires/wheels etc.

It does have a less sophisticated transmission and a little less hydraulic pump output. I am having trouble trusting the Kioti website on dimensions though even if they are listed as different. The website makes it look like the DS is the bigger tractor which just doesn't seem right from the photos or net weight...looks about the same size wise as the DK40se. Is it related to the DK45S? That might explain some of the size figures but then why does it share a loader 401/402 with the new DK rather than the 451 with the older DK45s??

By the way, the Kioti website specifications sections continue to be filled with gross errors. Can't one of you dealers convince them to go through it and clean it up.

Examples found in two minutes:

Roll back force for KL451 loader: 10gpm:confused:
Rear tread with Ag tires DK45S: 39 inches:eek:

No wonder we cannot figure out the track width of the DS vs DK.
The DK40se is listed at 63.9" while the DS4110 is 69.5" and the DK45s is 61.5" . I'm thinking the DS figure is wrong but it surely isn't wider than the DK40se or the DK45s is it?

Somebody at Kioti has to do some quality assurance work on the website. It is a chronic problem that doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves.

Thinking fairly seriously about one of these models; just wish I had acted when the free loader program was going.

How do you like your DS ?
Does the joystick for the loader seem to be at an awkward location compared to being on the fender like the DK ?

How do you like the manual shuttle ? Is it synchronized, or do you have to completely stop to change it like the gears ?
After using your DS, did you have any regrets about not getting a tractor with HST ?

Somewhat confused about the dimensions and weight; my local dealer said the DS is identical in size and weight as the DK.
However, Kioti web site lists the DS4110 as weighing 3527# and the DK40SE gear as 4202. But if the DK is heavier, you would also think it would be bigger in size, and though the specs show the DK to have about 1" longer wheelbase, the DK shows to be 63.9" wide whereas the DS is listed at 69.5" wide. What gives here; maybe a misprint ?

The main thing that I'm hesitant about on the DS is whether or not I will regret not getting a tractor with HST. I have read the pros and cons about HST vs gear til I'm blue in the face, but still not sure. Only tractors I've used have been gear, but I demoed HST at dealers and I have a HST lawn mower, so I'm familiar with how it works.
I have 24 acres of woods, half level and half fairly steep; don't figure on using any tractor too much on the steep part.
My main uses for the tractor will be:
Moving piles of brush and tree tops.
Maintaining a 1000' driveway.
Making and brush hogging ATV trails.
General grading and dirt work; moving rocks, etc.
No big fields to hog, nor any hours on end loader work.
Figuring on adding a hoe later on.

Of course, if money was no object, I would spring for a tractor with HST, but money always is when retired on SS.
I am mostly attracted to this model because of the size, the loader capacity ( I definitely want to outfit it with a grapple) and the horsepower for the price.

Please chime in on what you think of these DS models.

Thanks,
Arky

==========================
I've had my DS4510 for 9 months (2 years old and 200 hours at purchase time) and find it just as good or better than the 27 HP Kubota I had for 21 years. The shuttle shift works great despite the fact it isn't synchronized. Shifting up in gears within a range is smooth but going down on the move gives an insignificant grind.

The forward mount of the loader joystick is not perfect but has never been an issue. The factory loader has enough power to lift the tractor rear and with all four ag tractor tires loaded this tractor has loads of pushing power, though the bucket does respond on the slow side compared to the DK35 Kioti my neighbour has. Still I'll take the lift power of the DS4510 over the faster speed.

The hydrostatic transmission is really a personal choice. For plowing or blowing driveways the hydrostatic is simply the best choice. For pulling power (logs, plows, bush-hogs) the shuttle shift is the only way to go. Hydrostatic transmissions absorb 20% of engine power despite what dealers say (in my opinion) but their convenience is obvious if your tractor is not working hard. With a properly sized bush hog your tractor will be working hard so the shuttle shift will work much better for that job. Also the hydrostatic pedal needs constant pressure (without cruise) and the manual shuttle drives by itself.

I had an aftermarket cab installed on my DS4510 and it doesn't have the visibility of the factory cab and it doesn't have air, radio and defrosters but for the price (22G with cab and loader) it's a lifetime tractor for me. I landscape and cut wood mostly so the defrosters are not that big an issue. If you're going to blow a lot of snow then you'll need a factory cab with lots of defrosters for good visibility.
