I have disabled the Operator Presence switch on my 4200 so I could have the PTO going when I needed to adjust items on my 3PH sprayer. I also disabled the "Lawyer Switch" on my L130's RIO (Reverse Implement Operation) switch to allow mowing in reverse without activating the switch.
Note, I assume full responsibility for my safety or lack thereof by doing this. We also don't have children or pets. If we did, I may not have disabled these switches.
The Operator Presence switch on my L130 came in handy last week when I was mowing, and I misjudged a slope and slid off the seat. I'm glad the switch was there.
I am thinking of putting an Operator Presence bypass switch on my 4200 so it's active for most activities; but I can disable it for when I use the sprayer and need the PTO active whether I'm in the seat or not. Yes, I can activate the PTO from the ground; but it's a couple of extra steps to keep track of, and they are easily forgotten when one is concentrating on spraying.
If you disable the switch, please weigh the pros and cons before doing so.
